“Thanks, man. I guess you’re all right, too,” I retort trying to lighten the mood.

We work out for the next two hours and I know I’m going to be feeling the strain tomorrow when I move. Going on this vacation hasn’t helped me stay in shape at all. I know that when football season starts again, I’m going to be struggling.

We finish our work out by going into the locker room to change. Before we can get into the shower, a couple of attractive ladies stop us before we can get into the locker room.

“You’re even hotter in person,” one of the women says to me. She’s shorter than I am with blonde hair. Yes, she’s attractive but my mind is focusing on Raina.

I know exactly what these girls are wanting from us and that is the bragging rights of being with a professional football player.

“Thanks,” Karl answers for both of us.

I’m about to push through them to get into the locker room when I feel a hand wrap around my wrist to stop me. I look down at my wrist and then back up at the woman.

“Thanks. It is always great to meet a fan,” I reply in my typical answer.

She winks at me. “I’m more than a fan. How about we go out sometime?”

Karl is about to answer when my answer blurts from my mouth. I never expected this to be my answer but now that it is out there, I like the way it sounds.

“I’m here with my girlfriend and our families. Thanks, though.”

The fact that I categorized Raina as my girlfriend makes me smile in that dorky kind of way. You know the way I’m talking about? The kind of way that the dorks in the high school shows get when the pretty girl talks to them?

Karl makes a loud clapping noise making the girls scatter away from us. I know he’s about to give me shit, but I don’t want to hear it right now.

In fact, at this moment I’m needing some help wooing Raina.

“Bro,” he chants out. “Let’s get you the girl!”

Chapter Twenty-Three

Raina

I’m not a cocky person who thinks I’m better than everyone else. However, I do believe I’m a decent looking person. With that being said, I look absolutely beautiful.

My hair is curled in beach waves that I could never do, my makeup is flawless and I feel like a million bucks.

The resort has amazing staff who are great to their clients. I have never felt so taken care of in my life before. I’m relaxed and hiding in my room until it is time to see Luke.

Tonight is more than likely going to be the last time I see him. It pains me to think about it, especially because I’m pretty sure I have fallen in love with him.

I’m like ninety-five percent sure I’m in love with him.

The thought of never seeing Luke again has my heart fluttering in my chest like crazy. I can’t believe a man could mean so much to me after only a few short days with him.

In the days I have spent with Luke, I have developed deeper feelings for him than I have ever felt with Colton.

Needing some advice, I click Sarah’s name on my phone to call her.

“Girl, how are you?”

I smile. “I’m freaking out!”

“Why?”

“Things with Luke are going so good and I’m falling for him.”

She mutters something under her breath. “You mean to tell me that you have a gorgeous football player who you are in love with and you’re calling me?”
