Sighing as I take off my seatbelt, I pick up my purse off the opposite seat and make my way out the door, the pilot has opened. I brought nothing, just as Pierce told me to, except my passport and identification and my cell as well. Other than that, I’ve left it all up to him to provide me with everything else he deems I should have.
Placing myself in his complete care is more than a bit daunting. His list of rules and chores was on the monotonous side. But I think I’ll be able to show him that most of those mundane chores won’t need to be done daily. I hope so, anyway.
As I walk down the set of stairs that’s been pushed up to the plane, I see a man, standing off to one side. He lifts his hand with a slight wave and asks, “Miss Thomas?”
“Yes,” I answer as I get to the last stair and step off onto the tarmac. “I’m Jade Thomas.”
“Mr. Langford is waiting for you in the limousine. I’ll escort you to him.” He walks away, and I follow along behind him, a bit miffed that Pierce didn’t bother to come out to meet me.
“He stayed in the car, did he?” I mumble to myself.
“He was on a conference call,” the driver tells me as he continues walking. “It was important that he take the call, ma’am. He’ll be out of touch soon, as he’ll be with you in a remote section of the state in a place he has found has limited cell coverage. He told me to extend his apologies to you. He’d have come for you himself if the call hadn’t been important.”
“I see.” The thought of cell coverage not being good out where we’re going has my inner self chiding me about the danger of being so out of touch and all alone with the man I’ve given permission to, to test my limits. Am I an idiot?
Still, my feet keep taking me toward the man. We go through the airport and out the front doors to find many cabs and a few limos waiting in lines. I follow the driver and see one of the back doors open on a sleek, black car, and a tall man with muscles upon muscles gets out.
“Pierce,” I say breathlessly.
He’s easily six feet three inches. His dark hair hangs in loose waves from the top of his head, covering shortly cropped sides and half of his forehead. Plenty of hair to run my fingers through, just as he said. His eyes are bright and shining; the bluish color overwhelms the browns in them. His plump lips are pulled back into a smile, and he’s extending both hands to me.
“Jade!”
I quicken my pace to get to him. “Pierce!”
Our hands entwine as I reach out for him. He’s strong as he pulls me close and plants a kiss right on my quivering lips. Sparks flash all through me as our lips touch. I fight the urge to give into the kiss entirely.
Our mouths part and he looks into my eyes. “I’m happy to finally see you in the flesh, baby.”
“Me too,” I say with a sigh punctuating my short sentence.
Pierce moves me to get into the car, and I slide in, over the black leather bench seat. He moves in next to me and puts on my seatbelt for me, leaving a kiss on my cheek. “I have to keep my precious cargo safe.”
I giggle and watch him put on his own seatbelt. “This is weird.”
His eyes cloud as he looks at me. “Jade, it’s not that weird. People meet online all the time and end up meeting in person. It’s advanced, is what it is.”
I lean into his touch as he gently strokes my cheek. “My goodness, you’re beautiful.”
He’s the one who’s beautiful. I can’t help but scan his face and body. He’s wearing a dark blue suit that looks as if it costs hundreds of dollars. He smells like musky leather, and his mere presence fills me with a longing I’ve never had before.
I take his hand in mine and press my lips to the side of it. “I’ve studied a lot for you. Watched the videos you told me to in preparation for meeting your needs. All of them. Cooking, cleaning.” I lean in close and whisper, “Oral stimulating.”
“Good girl,” he whispers back to me, his tone low and sexy.
Our faces are so close, he takes my mouth again with a sweet kiss that takes my breath away. His tongue moves through my lips, mingling with mine. No domination is in the kiss, only sweetness.
I’ve kissed men before. Not a hell of a lot, but I have kissed men. But Pierce’s kiss is taking me to places none of theirs ever did. His mouth is soft as he kisses me. His hands run over my cheeks, then down to my shoulders, where he holds me. When he ends the kiss, we look at one another.
“You kiss well, Jade.”
“As do you,” I say, then run my hand over his five o’clock shadow. He had a smooth face when I saw the video he made with that woman, doing our scene. “You’ve let your beard grow out some.”
Taking my hand, he pulls it to his lips, running it back and forth over them, leaving trails of heat behind. “I didn’t shave this morning, that’s all. I thought I might let it grow while we’re on vacation. If you hate it, please let me know.”
“I think it makes you look rugged already,” I say, then give him a smile. “But I’ll let you know if it gets out of hand.”
“Please do.” He wraps his arm around my shoulders and pulls me close. “It’s better than I even expected.”
