Her eyes run over my body and shesighs.

“Good morning. I hope you enjoy it. You should come into the restaurant. Maybe for lunch. I work until twotoday.”

I laugh. “We’ll see what my wife wants todo.”

The young thing blushes and mumbles, “Crap! Okay, thanks for ordering from us.” She climbs back into her car as I goinside.

I find a couple of plates and take the omelets out of the Styrofoam containers and plate them up as prettily as I can. The red and green bell peppers I artistically place atopthem.

Orange mimosas, I ordered as well and fill a couple of juice glasses with the sweet liquid. I see a hint of something red and find a single small red rosebud they added in. I smile as I told the person who answered the phone and took my order I was making breakfast in bed for mygirlfriend.

I find it’s in a tiny vase and add a little water to it and find a tray to carry it all on. Rachelle stirs as I come back into the bedroom. She rubs her eye with the back of her hand andstretches.

“Hey,” I say, quietly. “You look like you sleptwell.”

Her cheeks are red from how much we kissed and the stubble from my five o’clock shadow rubbed them. She pulls her body up into a sitting position and moans. “God, I’msore.”

“Mission accomplished then,” I say with a chuckle. I take the tray and sit it on the nightstand next to her. “I was going to make you breakfast, but you are lacking the little things they call food to prepare you anything. So I ordered out and I think I might have a date for lunch later if what the teenage girl said was anyindication.”

“You’re taken,” she says with a grin and takes a lock of my hair and pulls me to her. “So, she’ll just have to be disappointed.” She places a kiss on my cheek and lets me go. “So what did you getus?”

I place the tray over her lap and she looks at the food hungrily. “I am starved. I haven’t eaten since breakfastyesterday.”

As I climb into bed next to her I frown. “You shouldn’t wait that long between meals, baby. I’m taking you to the grocery store in a little while. We’re filling this place up with food. I want you to make me something you love to make for dinner tonight. I’m taking you to your most favorite restaurant for lunchtoday.”

“You don’t have to….” shesays.

I place my finger to her lips. “It’s so we can check out the competition of what you want to make yours like. Don’t worry, I remember how you don’t want anyone to make a big deal over you or youraccomplishments.”

“So, a recon mission then?” she asks with a smile. “Yeah, I can dothat.”

Idon’t thinkI’ve ever seen a woman who was so dead set on no one doing anything nice for herbefore!

Rachelle

As another round of rain storms blows in I get dressed after another amazing shower with Blake. The man is beyond generous in the bedroom. I catch my reflection in the mirror as I button the last button on my pale blueshirt.

I’m reminded of a picture my grandparents have in their home of my mother. Her hair is brown where mine is black but it’s straight as a board, just like mine is. Her eyes are blue like mine and in that picture she had on a pale blueshirt.

It settles back in, the pain that Blake managed to move out of me. The reality of life sets in and I know this thing with Blake won’t last. It can’t. It’s too much like a fairytale.

What did I do lastnight?

The man saidhe’d give me a restaurant and the next thing I know I’m handing myself over tohim.

What a complete whore Iam!

Who does that?Who just gives themselves to someone they barely know because they gave themsomething?

A whore, that’swho!

Taking long stridesI go out to the living room to tell Blake I can’t take his offer. He sits on the sofa, messing around with his cell phone. He looks up with a smile on his handsome face. It quickly turns to an expression of concern as he seesme.

“What’s wrong,baby?”

He tries to get up, but I beat him to it and place my hands on his broadshoulders.

“I thought it over and I can’t take you up on that offer you gave meyesterday.”
