Something wet and warm between her legs had her lids opening to slits, so she could watch Easton cleaning her up with a washcloth. He rolled her to turn down the bed, situating herweightless frame in the center of the surprisingly comfortable mattress. She watched him switch off the lights and check the lock on the door. Then he slid next to her and gathered her in his arms. She rested her head against his chest, his heartbeat rapping a comforting cadence in her ear.

“That…was…” Her murmur drifted off.

“That was something we will do again.” His hand stroked her hair, his fingers working through the tangles. “But for now, sleep, baby. I got you.”

A contented smile curved her lips as she drifted off to dreamland.

Chapter Nineteen

Bailee stirred, stretching languidly and breathing in the rich aroma of fresh coffee. She yawned, her eyes fluttering open. Her body felt wonderfully sore, reminding her of the night spent in Easton’s arms.

After their first time together, they slept a bit before his touch woke her. The second round of sex also relaxed them enough to sleep, but only for a couple of hours. This time she found a creative way to wake him with her lips wrapped around his cock. She smiled, thinking of how much he had enjoyed that.

Her body felt the weight of fatigue from the long drive and the night of frequently interrupted sleep, but she didn’t mind. The night with Easton had been building between them, and though she would be leaving him behind eventually to return to Louisville, she didn’t regret giving in to their attraction. He was well worth any time she spent with him.

“Good morning, brown eyes. I have coffee and biscuits.”

She stretched her arms above her head, well aware of how the sheet molded to the curves of her breasts and hips. “Breakfast in bed sounds perfect.”

Easton groaned, sending a thrill straight to her lady parts. “Baby, if I get in that bed with you, we won’t be crawling out anytime soon. We have things to do today, so that can’t happen.”

“Fine.”

She rolled off the bed, pulling the sheet with her, and reached for her oversized sleep shirt. Her back was to him as she slipped it over her head and walked over to him. She sat in one of the chairs by the small table and clutched the to-go cup like a lifeline. She sipped the hot coffee, feeling the caffeine jolt throughout her body.

“Perfect. I think I may love Ben for making sure I had coffee first thing this morning.”

“I think I may have to beat the shit out of my little brother,” he drawled low and fierce.

Bailee giggled. “Ben is taller than you, so I don’t think little brother applies anymore.”

“It always applies. I wasn’t sure what you’d want, so I had him get a variety. There’s sausage with egg, bacon and cheese, ham, and plain buttered with some jelly.”

“You’ve thought of everything.” She opened the wrapper of a bacon biscuit still warm enough to have melted the cheese. The crispy, gooey goodness was heavier than she typically ate for breakfast, but her bedroom activities left her starving.

“You ready for today?”

She glanced at Easton, looking sexy with his disheveled hair and dark stubble along his jaw. “No. Yes. Maybe.” She shrugged. “I’m sure Jane is going to make it difficult for us, but I’m ready to know if we’re wasting our time with her or not.”

“You think you’ll be able to tell just by talking to her?”

She chewed a bite thoughtfully. “I don’t know. I think so. From my experience with her, she doesn’t hold back, but now, after all that’s happened, and considering she’s moved on withher life, it’s possible she could fool me. But it doesn’t matter. I have to talk to her. She’s the only lead we have right now.”

Easton reached out and held her hand. “Don’t worry. If this doesn’t pan out, we’ll find something else.”

She smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. “If this doesn’t pan out, at least the trip wasn’t a total loss. Being together last night was pretty amazing.”

He winked. “That may be the biggest understatement I’ve ever heard.”

“Too bad we can’t have an encore or two this morning.”

“It’s probably for the best. I doubt Ben would wait around while we enjoy each other some more. You finish up. I’m going to grab a shower, and then the bathroom’s all yours.”

It was on the tip of her tongue to suggest that she join him, but she refrained. He dropped a lingering kiss to her lips and then swaggered into the bathroom. She sighed as she watched him walk away.

Bailee pounded her fist against the door and stepped back to wait. Ben and Easton flanked her on either side, and she was grateful to have them with her. She’d been somewhat surprised to see the two-story brick home with the vast yard. Bushes and bright flowers made the house feel more like a painting than someone’s home. The Jane Pearce she remembered certainly didn’t fit the picture of domesticity they found her in.
