“Good morning, Mr. Oberoi. I’m Diana, your flight attendant for this journey. If there’s anything you need...anything at all, just call me by pressing the white button on your side.” A flashing smile spread across her face as she batted her fake eyelashes at Kabir.

“That won’t be necessary,” Kabir stated tersely, shoving the eyeglasses up his nose.

Taking in the attendant’s little song and dance with Kabir roused Kyra’s irritation. Of course, she’d want him to call her as he looked like a superhero turned businessman with smooth features, deep black eyes, flawlessly coiffed hair and a square jaw. She breathed out and forced herself to relax and not glower at him. She sighed heavily and returned to her phone screen.

Kabir stared at her silently and he opened a file of documents.

Kyra was irritated by that. Was he really going to be working all the time? She exhaled, squinting at the file in his sexy hands. “What are you reading?”

“Reviewing some documents.” He didn’t even look up.

“Won’t you ask what am I doing?” She kept looking at him.

“You’re talking to me?” Kabir looked confused.

“Yes. Is there anyone else around me?” She scrunched her nose.

“What are you reading, Kyra?” He grumbled and turned the page, not wanting an explanation for her ridiculous question. He ignored how he loved the way she scrunched her nose.

“A book.” She smiled brightly.

“That’s really nice,” Kabir muttered an expletive as he lost the sentence he was reading.

“I was only trying to have a civil conversation.” Kyra scowled, looking more irritated. “If you keep ignoring me like you have for the past three months, how can we possibly work together?”

“I never ignored you.” He lied, startled by her outburst.

“Really? Now that you’re finally here with me and have nowhere to run, let’s talk,” she added acerbically.

“Or we can travel in silence,” His voice was dark. Smooth but dark. “You can read your book, and I will do my work. And just so you know. I never run. I always chase.”

“Perfect.” she smiled brightly, putting away her phone. “What fun would it be to let you off the hook now that you’re talking to me? Let’s see if you run or chase.”

Kabir could tell she was not going to budge. She was going to irritate the crap out of him, and his attempt to be polite with her would backfire as he would snap. He scoffed and shook his head. “What do you wanna talk about?”

“Your favorite movie?”

“Movies are all the same. I don’t have a favorite.”

“How boring. Holiday romance movies are my favourite.” He didn’t aske her anything. “Whom do you spend Christmas with?” Kyra questioned again.

“I don’t,” he said.

“You don’t what?”

“Spend Christmas,” he said.

“You don’t spend Christmas with anyone?” She asked.

“No. I don’t celebrate it. At all.”

“You... you don’t celebrate Christmas?” She asked wide-eyed. “Are you serious?”

His lips didn’t budge, and his face remained expressionless.

“Who in the world doesn’t celebrate Christmas?” Kyra exhaled loudly.

“More than half the world’s population,” he remarked. “And me.”
