Ritik waited near the entrance of the club for Raina to arrive. The moment the valet opened her car door, she saw Ritik and grinned as though she had found a new fish in the sea. She looked good with her perfect makeup and chic hairdo.
“Hi, Ritzy.” She crooned. “I’m so glad you called me up. It’s been too long.”
“Hi, Raina. I’m glad you could make it.” Ritik winced at hearing Ritzy.
“I wouldn’t have missed your invite for anything.” She crooned.
“Well, then, let’s go inside.” They entered the club without further delay.
The DJ played loud electro music, and the crowd went crazy. They moved through the sea of people and reached the bar, where Ritik spotted their regular bartender mixing and serving colourful cocktails.
“So, Raina, how are you?” They sat down at the bar, and Ritik ordered their drinks.
“How do I look?” Raina leaned towards Ritik, shoving her cleavage against his face and flirted with him.
“Well, you look perky,” Ritik smirked as he lifted his gaze from her cleavage.
“You crack me up, Ritzy.” Raina roared with laughter as they continued their conversation while waiting for their drinks.
“You know, I always liked you. After your breakup with Kabir, I was waiting to see you.” Ritikwinked at her.
“I would have ended my affair with Kabir long ago if I had known you were interested in me.” Raina trailed a finger down his chest.
“Well, now you know.” Their drinks arrived. “To new flings and new friends…with benefits.” He added, raising his glass for a toast.
“To new flings.” Raina clinked her glass of whiskey with Ritik and was about to take a sip of her drink when someone suddenly snatched away her glass.
“What the fuck.” Raina screeched and turned to see Mira standing behind her. “Are you crazy?Give me my drink.”
“Are you crazy? You can’t drink alcohol, Raina.” Mira gave her most dramatic look.“Dude, please give the lady lemon-infused water. No soda, please.” Mira ordered the bartender.
“What is your problem?” Rainaasked hotly.
“My problem is that you’re drinking when you’re pregnant,”Mira replied.
“Stop with your nonsense!”Raina growled.
“Whoa. You’re pregnant?” Ritik shot a look at her stomach.
“No, I’m not, you idiot,” Raina replied heatedly.
“She is lying, Ritik,” Mira shouted over the loud music.
“I’m not lying,” Raina yelled furiously.
“I saw you at Dr. Singh’s clinic last evening,” Mira exclaimed as the music stopped. People were exiting the lounge as security evacuated the club.
“You are delusional. There’s no way you could have seen me there last evening.” Raina sputtered as shesaw a familiar-lookinggirlstanding next to a table.
“How do you know for sure?” Mira blinked at her.
“Because I was at his clinic last week and notlast evening,”Raina yelled, immediatelyrealising her blunder.
“And what were you doing at his clinic?” Mira asked smugly, thinking how quickly Raina took the bait.
“It’s none of your business.” Raina stuttered.
“It is our business when you try to mess with people we love.” Kabir declared as he stealthily reached Raina.
