I give her a hard look, “The problem is that I know we have a connection and I like him, but I’m not sure if he feels the same way, or if it’s just a sexual thing for him.”

Brody gives me a look like I’m incompetent, “Ivory, he likes you just as much, if not more, than you like him.”

I roll my eyes, “And how would you know that?”

She gives me a look like she knows a lot more than she’s letting on, but won’t be giving me answers. “I just do.”

“Whatever,” I wave them off.

Heels click beside us and an assertive voice interrupts, “Hello, deranged people.” We all turn and find Selene beside us.

“Hi, mistress of evil,” Brody greets in return.

Selene immediately frowns, “I told you to stop that.”

Brody taps her chin as if in thought, “And I’m pretty sure I told you I don’t give a shit.”

Selene takes a deep breath and gathers herself, “You know what? I am not engaging today. I am in too good of a mood.”

“You? In a good mood? Did Hell freeze over?” I ask, feigning shock in my voice.

She narrows her eyes at me, “No. I’ll have you three know that I spoke with Martin and he reported that he has been very pleased with your professionalism.”

Aria raises a brow, “That’s why you’re happy?”

Selene has a secretive gleam in her eye, “Amongst other things that I will not be sharing with you just yet. Now, you,” she points at Brody, “Are needed in your trailer. Martin wants to meet with you to discuss a specific scene he may want to add to or change.” She turns her attention to Aria, “Sly is here to see you, I told him I’d have you meet him in your trailer. He brought Nate andMiles with him, and speaking of, Nate is asking to see you,” she points to me.

I haven’t seen Nate in a while. We haven’t texted as much because I’ve been so busy, but I do miss him. Selene points a finger in my face, “But that has to wait because you need to film a scene that takes priority since you weren’t here yesterday.”

Aria groans, “Come on, Selene. She’s been non-stop on the go, she deserves a few minutes to unwind.”

Selene raises a threatening brow, “Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realize your lives were all so difficult that you can’t smile in front of a fucking camera for an hour or two.”

Aria frowns at her, “Rude.”

“Ivory will meet you and the guys in your trailer after her scene. In fact, we can all share a nice meal in there as well. I’ll even give Harvey a call and tell him to come too,” she offers to Brody who practically has hearts in her eyes at the mention of her fiancé.

Aria sighs, “Fine.” But at the prospect of seeing her fiancé, she perks up, “I’m gonna go see Sly now.”

Selene waves her away, “Yes, be gone.”

Aria rolls her eyes as she and Brody start walking off. When they’re gone, Selene asks for an update on the Sam situation, and when I explain that Dallas has been amazing, she smiles but doesn’t say much in response. It’s almost as if Selene already knew this or even suspected this. I learned a long time ago not to ask questions because Selene is like a psychic or something. I swear she knows things before other people do and sometimes, it oddly feels like we’re all chess pieces on her board and she just likes to sit back and watch things play out. It’s actually quite terrifying if I’m being honest.

The next hour and a half is consumed with me filming a short scene. By the end, I start to feel a little light-headed and I even feel a little brain fog which isn’t something I’m used to. I try tokeep myself professional and I seem to succeed in doing so, but all of my resolve crashes when I finish filming and I even start to feel worse. Thankfully, I don’t think anyone notices and when I’m finally finished, I start to walk off the set and find Dallas, but I run into Lucy who is absolutely demolishing a thick slice of cake. “Hey, Luce,” I greet her.

She speaks with her mouth full, excitement in her eyes, “Hi, Ivory!”

“How do you like being little me?” I ask.

She grins so wide, “I love it!”

I give her a quick hug and ruffle her hair, “You think Harvey will even let you dye your hair pink?”

Lucy laughs, “I doubt it. You know how he is,” she rolls her eyes at her stern, overly protective, and very fatherly older brother.

I chuckle, “Oh, I’m aware.” I look around, “Are you here alone?”

She shakes her head, “My mom is around somewhere. She’s gonna take me home because it’s getting late.”
