“The goods, huh?”
She nods, and her eyes glitter. “I wanna make babies with you, Calix.”
I groan and drag her into my arms. She knows the thought of her carrying my child makes me want to fall to my knees and beg for it to happen.
This woman.
“Alright,” I agree. “Prove it.”
Blair shakes her head and moves back, dashing into the woods. “Only if you catch me, Alpha.”
“Oh, I’ll catch you, mate.”
I watch as she giggles, running as fast as her thick thighs will carry her, and I play along, giving her a head start as I watch her, my arms crossed.
“I’ll always catch you.”
Chapter Forty-Seven
BLAIR
It feels good to be running from Calix, playing with him without a care in the world like we did when we first met. That wasn’t so long ago, but it feels like a lifetime. The wind blows my hair behind me, and I let out a nervous giggle when I glance back to see Calix standing stock-still, watching me with his arms crossed. My heart leaps into my throat when he smirks, letting me know he, too, is enjoying our little game.
I know it’s pointless running from a werewolf—not just a werewolf, though; an Alpha. The strongest and fastest in his pack, no less. But damn, I love the thought of being chased. Of being caught. The earthy scent greets my nostrils as I duck and dive through tree branches, no longer attempting to run but to hide. Because I’m not stupid—he’ll catch me. He always does.
“You know I can smell you, right?” Calix drawls from a distance, his lazy drawl echoing between the trees. “That I can sniff you out?”
I press myself against the trunk of the biggest tree I can find and suck in a breath, my heart pounding frantically in my chest.
“You smell delicious, Blair.”
His voice makes me ache, a yearning deep within that draws me to him, that makes me want to wave my arms in the air and scream my location to him. But I don’t.
“The best thing is, your pussy will lead me directly to you.”
I sink my teeth into my lip and close my eyes, clenching my thighs together. He’s not wrong though; I may not have a wolf's senses, but I’m dripping wet. It doesn’t take a wolf to know I’m aroused when I’m in this state.
Calix still sounds far away, and I feel dizzy with apprehension, not knowing when he’s going to pounce on me or?—
I shriek when a hand grips my throat from behind, another hand reaching around the trunk to my waistband. I let out a shaky breath when my mate purrs, “There you are.”
Within seconds, he’s in front of me, his eyes glowing amber as he stares down at me. “You made me chase you.”
I nod, my tongue wetting my lips.
“You bad girl.”
A moan leaves me at his words, his hand moving to my hair as he bunches it into a fist, tugging slightly.
“You know what happens to bad girls, right?” He rasps, his breathing heavy. “You shouldn’t tease the wolf, Blair, yet it’s all you seem to do.”
My eyes widen as he pushes on my shoulder, showing me he wants me on my knees. His other hand grips my hair, and even though pain shoots through my scalp, I bend, maintaining eye contact as he gazes at me. Still, I refuse to make this easy for him.
I don’t make a move to slip his pants down, and he stares at me expectantly, his jaw ticking like he knows what I’m doing.
“Suck my cock, Blair.”
I gasp at the filthy words and shake my head. “No.”
