Beautiful…

Incredible…

Magnificent…

His.

A hundred words in his voice permeated my thoughts.

He ignored the eased into me, then, slower than he had to, gentler than necessary for my already soaked lady parts. He gritted his teeth and muscles worked in his cheeks.

I bucked against him, and the length of him slid in. Finally, the reins broke, and he buried himself inside me. A splintering sound filled the cabin, but he didn’t stop.

Neither of us could.

Out and back in, screaming, howling, roaring.

Again and again…

Falling… Falling…

The table didn’t make it.

At least the surface hadn’t broken, only the supports.

In the aftermath and the splintered wreckage of the table, Logan circled me with his arms and laid his head against my chest. “I believe we killed it.”

“If you mean, we’re fucking good at it, yes.” I laughed. “If you mean the table, also, yes.”

He kissed my collarbone. “We killed it on all counts, but I meant the table. Guess I’ll let Olivia know we should replace it. Knew something was going to get broken tonight.”

“Oh, yeah?” I said, covering a yawn. “I didn’t know that this was a Six-Mile cabin.”

“Na, but if we broke it, we buy it. It’s the right thing to do.” He climbed to his feet and reached down to help me to mine, capturing me in his arms.

Our sex had been different this time, unhurried, tender. His feelings amplified mine, sending them echoing back to me through the bond between us. We both felt it all this time, more than ever before. I didn’t have any idea how any fated mates ever did anything other than fuck.

I laid my head against his chest, enjoying the closeness of after. “We have to go back.”I don’t want to.

“We will.”Soon.His arms tightened around me.

“Sooner than I’d like,” I murmured and snuggled his arms.

He kissed the top of my temple. But a sound interrupted our reverie.

I froze, and my ears pricked. “Did you hear that?”

Logan raised his head and peered through the screen into the dark. “What?”

Had it been the sound of a stick breaking in the woods? An animal or…Shit.I stepped out of his arms and crossed to the dining room window.

The upper portion of the glass in the window frame fractured, and shards exploded over the broken dining room table. I covered my face, ducking away. A flaming projectile sailed over my head, across the living space, and slammed into the stained-glass lamp. The intricate design broke into pieces, skittering across the hardwood floor.

“Fuck!” Logan bellowed. He hooked his arm around my waist and dragged me away from the window and around the corner into the hallway.

“What are you doing?”

“Getting you out of the line of fire.” He ducked his head out of the hallway, narrowly avoiding another blazing chunk as it catapulted through the air. More followed. “Shit. They’re trying to burn us out.”
