Uh, swoon.I loved it when he called me baby. And beautiful. And love. I loved it when this man called me.
“How long have you been up?” he asked.
“Not long.”
“What are you doing?”
“Staring at my fine ass husband,” I admitted with zero shame.
His eyes widened. I guess he hadn’t expected that answer. His lips twitched like he was attempting to hold in his smile. Seconds later, he tugged the cover up, pulling it over his head, shielding his face from me.
“Really?” I burst out laughing and grabbed the edge of the cover, trying to pull it down so I could see his face.
But this man had the covers locked in a death grip.
“I know my savage isn’t shy,” I teased.
The blanket lowered just enough for his eyes to peek out. “Savage?”
“Yeah, savage.”
He dropped the cover to his chest, brows raised. “What makes you think I’m a savage?”
I tilted my head, giving him a ‘you know why’look.
“With the way you tear this pussy up, what else can you be but a savage?” I asked.
His eyes widened again. His mouth dropped open, and then he burst out laughing, a deep, full laugh that made his entire body shake. Seeing him laugh, seeing him happy, seeing him without that worried expression on his face, it sent warmth blooming through me.
I was slowly learning things about myself. And one thing I’d learned was that I loved seeing my husband happy. I loved seeing him smile. I loved that little dimple in his cheek. I loved being the reason he smiled. I loved Aiden Park.
“What the hell am I going to do with you?” he asked.
“Just keep loving me the way you’re loving me,” I stated, leaning down to kiss his forehead before sitting back. “That’s all I want.”
The laughter faded, and something else flickered across his face. His smile softened, his eyes locking with mine, gaze intense.
“Do you really mean that?” he asked, tone serious.
“Of course.”
“I mean...” His voice trailed off, his gaze searching mine. He hesitated, then tried again. “What I mean is, am I loving you right? Are you happy with me? Truly happy? I know it’s only been a couple of days, but...”
I pressed my finger to his lips, silencing him.
“Aiden Park, I love the way you love me. I love the way you put me first. I love the way you listen when I share my thoughts and concerns with you. I love the way you protect me. I love you. And you’re doing an amazing job of loving me. I’m happy being here with you.”
He swallowed hard, blinking rapidly like he was fighting to keep his emotions in check. My heart twisted. Turns out, I loved a man who wasn’t afraid to be vulnerable in front of me. A man who wasn’t too macho or too cocky to ask if he was loving me properly.
A man who strove to love me the way I deserved to be loved and who was willing to change and adapt to what I needed. Damn, I loved my man. Aiden pulled me close, tucking me tight against his chest like he never wanted to let me go.
His lips brushed my temple before he murmured, “If you ever need me to change, just tell me. If I ever do anything that makes you unhappy with me, let me know. I’ll fix it. But one thing I’ll never do is stop loving you. Not in this life, not even in the afterlife. And if reincarnation is real, I’m confident that my soul will search for yours in our next life. Wherever you are is where I must be.”
My throat tightened and my heart did somersaults inside my chest. When I tilted my head up to meet his gaze, he captured my lips in a kiss that was so tender, so sweet, it made warmth bloom in my chest. It was a kiss full of promises of forever.
Ending the kiss, he whispered, “Come on, baby. Let’s take a shower and restart our day.”
He tossed the covers off us. My eyes went straight to his feet, and I cracked up.
