Chaos
“Church”I bellow as I storm through the main room, heading for our sanctuary.
I don’t look behind me, I can hear the chairs scraping along the floor as they all get up to follow me. I head into the sanctuary and take my seat at the head of the table and my brothers slowly file in and take their seats.
Mayhem, my VP is on my right with Riot taking the Sergeant At Arms seat on my left. Psycho, true to his name, takes the Enforcer’s seat next to Riot. Dolla our money man, Treasurer is next to Mayhem, then Tracker, our Road Captain and finally bringing up the rear is our tech hacker genius Keys.
Our Officer’s table is complete.
I slide the wooden gavel into my right hand, feeling the weight of responsibility for this bunch of misfits settle on my shoulders. Lifting it and I bring it down with a heavy hand. We have a lot to get through today, and they tend to go off on a tangent when left too far off the leash.
Just before speaking, I feel a heavy lump on each side of my legs. Looking down I notice my two Rottweilers, King and Raze scoot in with the guys. Rubbing each of their heads, I start Church.
“Dolla, how are we banking?”
He opens his ledger and shuffles some papers.
“Looking healthy. Garage is well into the black and getting busier. Might need to look at adding another mechanic we trust or a prospect. Wreckers are also into the black and lining our pockets nicely. New food and cocktail menus have increased profits. The new manager is working a treat. He’s got a lot of good ideas. Might be worth looking at opening another location. Twisted Skin percentage is looking good. Prospect is running the business well.”
I tune the rest of it out as Dolla goes over the figures of each business and the profits, plus how he is laundering the money from our side and not exactly legal business through each of the legal businesses. He thinks maybe adding another business or location would be a good idea but I don’t want to spread us too thin.
“Thanks, Dolla. I’ll think about opening a second location. If you can get me costs and also possible locations, projections, etc. The usual and I’ll consider it.”
Dolla nods at me and makes a note on his papers.
“Are we all on plan for the next run?” I ask looking at Psycho.
“Yeah,” he growls at me
Man of little words is our Psycho but his attention to detail is impeccable, which is why he organises our runs. Our less than legal side of the business is bringing drugs in through the docks and getting them to where they need to go. Don’t dabble ourselves in the distribution, we’re more the middle shipping man.
“Good, we’ve got no time for fuck ups,” I warn.
Psycho just hits me with a look that says, who the fuck ya telling?I stare back with a,just be on it,look. Mayhem joins in with a,we got this, look. A fuck youare sent back to both of them.
Pair of arseholes always trying my patience.
“Use your words fuckers,” Riot moans.
“Jealous?” Mayhem snarks back.
In typical Psycho fashion, he rolls his eyes and flicks Riot the finger.
“Set of clever fuckers,” he grumbles, making us all chuckle
We’ve been best friends since we were kids, we know each other better than brothers. It sometimes pisses the others off when we speak through looks, but we know what the others are saying. The three of us could have a full conversation without words.
“Right now, to the fun stuff. Tracker we all set for Into The Wind rally?”
The rally is a yearly bike rally in Yorkshire, always a good weekend. Meeting up with support clubs, conduct a little business, and have a little fun. The boys need to relax and let off a little steam.
“Yeah, routes planned, I’ve checked everyone’s bikes already but I’ll double-check day or so before too. Camping equipment has been checked and made sure everything is packed ready to load in the van with the prospect to follow us.”
Tracker is our Road Captain and it’s his job to plan our routes, make sure all our bikes are in shape and plan for any issues.
“Good, Riot, I’ve arranged with Judge of Tribal Bones to meet up. They are due their last payment. Need you and Mayhem with me. Psycho, I want you close but not too close. Something feels off to me, so need you on watch, all of you.”
