He places his hand under my chin and lifts my head to look at him.

“At your pace, Carrie. You tell me what you’re ready for. There’s no rush. I’m more than happy kissing and holding you,” he reassures.

Giving him a soft smile, I nod my head. Not sure I could form words or form full sentences at the moment. He’d turned me to mush, and I can’t think straight.

Taking my hand, he leads me back to his bike. God, I love being on the back of his bike. I’m definitely my father’s daughter. It’s in my blood. The freedom you feel while riding is just amazing. Getting back on the bike, he goes the long way back to the clubhouse. Guess he loves me being on his bike as much as I do.

Pulling through the gates, I can see my dad, Bull, and Prez outside. Getting off the bike, Jason parks it in line with the others, and we walk to join them. As soon as I’m within reach, Dad pulls me in for a hug.

“You okay, girlie?” he asks.

Holding him back tighter, my dad is my other safe place. A girl should always be able to rely on her daddy.

“Yeah, Dad, I’m good,” I reply.

He still holds me a little longer before letting go, when both Bull and Prez surprise me and pull me in for hugs too. These men would die to protect me, and I’ll never take that for granted. We’re a family, and family protects each other and have each other’s backs.

“I’m going to find Beau,” I announce.

“He’s on the playground, Princess,” Prez tells me.

I still get goosebumps when anyone calls me Princess. They’re right, I’m the motherfucking Sons of Havoc Princess, and I need to start acting like it. Nodding, I head toward the playground. I find Tank and Kate sitting at one of the tables watching Beau play.

“Hey guys,” I say, joining them.

Sitting next to Tank, he wraps an arm around me and draws me into him.

“You okay, Gorgeous?” he asks.

I smile at the nickname he’s always called me.

“Yeah, I’m good. How’s the kid been?”

“He’s way too much like Joker,” Kate laughs.

“Yeah, kid’s a real chip off the old block. Going to give me a hell of a time when he gets older,” I laugh.

“Nah, he’ll be good, or one of us will kick his ass,” Tank jokes.

“Speaking of ass-kicking, remember when we talked about self-defense. Well, I’ve been thinking, and I don’t want to just do a little self-defense. I want you to train me,” I state.

Tank looks at me, a little shocked.

“Oh, I’m up for this too,” Kate says.

“Really? Both of you?” questions Tank.

Both of us nod.

“This world ain’t safe, and it’s not rainbows. I need to know I can get down and dirty when I need to. We all need to be strong and fuck off if you think I’m going to be the weakest link,” I say.

I put my hand up before he can say anything.

“I’ve already talked to Joker, and he’s agreed to give me a refresher with a gun. Wolf also said he’d train me with a knife. If you don’t want to train me to fight, then I’ll speak to Wolf.”

He runs his hand over his head and down his face.

“You’re serious about this?” he asks.
