“Erm, you do all realize I’m in the room and know you’re talking about me. That shit is just plain rude. Talk to me, and I will answer any questions, but do not discuss me like I am not here and can’t speak for myself.” Carrie throws at us.

We all look at her shocked, I love the fire in her.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart, we didn’t mean to be rude. The boys were just filling me in on what happened, but you are right. We should have asked you. I will make sure we don’t do that again,” Prez tells her.

“Thank you, Prez. I appreciate it,” she replies sweetly.

“I’m going to find out who hurt you in my clubhouse. This is a safe space, Carrie,” Prez continues.

“You might want to start with Dog,” Carrie tells him.

“Dog?” Prez asks, confused.

“I noticed recently he’s been acting strange, and when he thinks no one is looking, the evil looks he throws my way give me the creeps. Tank witnessed it earlier,” she confirms.

Prez and Joker turn to look at me.

“I was going to mention it, but hadn’t had a chance. I did see the look he gave her earlier tonight, and it was not friendly.” I back up what Carrie said.

“I’ve noticed him giving Wire the same look too,” she says.

“Observant, sweetheart,” Prez says with a grin.

“I like people watching,” Carrie says, looking all shy.

“Okay, you notice anything else, let me know. Joker, I want you and Tank to make sure Dog is watched. I’m going to have a chat with Wire,” Prez says as he leaves the room, and we follow behind him, giving Joker and Carrie some space.

I head downstairs and keep watch over the brothers who are around. If I had to guess who out of any of them, I would never peg any for something like this. Everyone loves Carrie. It’s not long before Prez calls church. We all head in and take our seats. Joker is the last one in.

“Thank you all for coming on short notice. Unfortunately, there has been an incident tonight in the clubhouse. One of our own was attacked.”

The room erupts as the brothers demand to know who and what happened. I look at each of them, for their reactions, all are outraged, except Dog, who looks more nervous than anything.

“Settle down, and I’ll tell you,” Prez shouts as he bangs the gavel to get everyone’s attention.

Everyone settles down and takes their seats again.

“Tonight, Carrie was attacked. She’s fine, just a little bump to the head. The fact is our Princess should have been safe to head to the ladies’ room alone in her own clubhouse.”

You can hear the anger in Prez’s voice.

“Do we know what happened?” Cass asks.

“Not yet, but we will find out. I want you all to be on the lookout for anything strange. Until we get to the bottom of what happened, only family are welcome at the clubhouse. No strangers or hangarounds,” Prez orders.

A few mumbles go around, but otherwise, everyone is on board. Prez dismisses church, but motions for Joker and me to remain with Bull, Reck, and Wire.

“I spoke with Wire. Joker, did you know Carrie has been spending time with him, and he’s been teaching her computers?” Prez asks.

“I knew he was showing her the basics and stuff,” he replies, sounding confused.

“Turns out he’s been showing her a little more than the basics,” Prez says.

“My girl ain’t no cheat, Prez,” Joker replies, instantly getting the wrong end of the stick.

“Woah, wrong end of the stick, son,” Prez says quickly. “What I meant was that it turns out our Princess has a natural talent for computers. Wire said she picked up the basics in a flash and wanted to learn more. He’s been teaching her to be the next‘Wire.’He seems to think she could be better than he is, given time and practice,” Prez confirms.

“Fuck, really?” Joker asks, shocked.
