“Was just going to call you.”
“Fuck brother, I can’t take any more bad news,” I sound so defeated.
“They managed to bring him back, and he’s doing okay now. He’s stable.”
Finally, some good news.
Nodding, I tell him to stay with Wrench, and I head for my bike. I need the ride to clear my mind. Mounting it, I head out of the hospital parking lot and hit the road. Riding back through town and out onto the back roads, where I can really open my baby up and feel my spirit soar.
After riding for about an hour, I pull over. For once, the wind has not helped clear my mind, but I know I need to speak with Pandora. I need to know exactly what the fuck has been going on. Pulling my phone from my pocket, I call her.
“Tank.” Her voice sounds a little groggy.
“Tell me it’s not true,” I demand.
“It’s not what you think.”
“What I think is that you’re working with that Lukas prick who took my brother and fucking tortured him.”
“Now’s not a good time, Tank, but I can explain. You need to trust me,” she begs.
“I don’t need to do fucking shit. Tell me you’re not working with that Lukas fuck.”
I can feel myself getting angrier the more she refuses to answer my questions.
“Tank, I can . . .”
Her sentence isn’t finished when I hear a male voice in the background.
“Lukas fuck off,” I hear her muffled reply like she has her hand over the phone.
“Jesus, Pandora, you’re with him now. Fuck, you’re a traitor,” I tell her with so much venom in my voice.
“No, wait, Tank,” she begs again.
I’m not giving her the option to tell me more lies, ending the call. I can feel myself shaking with so much rage. She'd tricked me. Wrench almost died, Wire is a shell of himself, and the girls were in danger all because of her. Starting my bike, I head for the clubhouse. Once back, I find Prez talking to Carrie and Kate.
“Prez,” I say with a nod.
“You okay, brother?” he asks.
“Talked to Pandora, it’s all true. She was fucking with him when I spoke to her,” I tell him, rage still running through my veins.
“What are you talking about?” Kate asks.
I turn to face my sister and Carrie.
“Pandora is a traitor, and you are to stay the fuck away from her.”
“Oh, hell no. You’ve got it wrong,” Carrie says.
“No way, Scott, no fucking way,” Kate jumps to Pandora’s defense.
“Yes, fucking way. I got confirmation.”
I turn and walk away, unable to hear their pleas. I grab a bottle of Jack from the bar and head for my room. Dropping down on my bed, I forget the glass and drink straight from the bottle. I can’t believe I fell for her shit. Her lies, she'd fooled me. I fell for her hook, line, and sinker. Never again will I let another woman into my heart.
