I’ve been stayingat Tink’s house since Sunday. She has been trying not to show how upset she is about Lolita leaving, but I can see through the barrier she attempts to keep up. On top of that, she’s hurting from the unknowns with Hollywood. I have hope we’ll get it straightened out soon.

It’s Friday and the clubhouse is in full swing, getting ready for tonight’s party. One of the only reasons I came was so I could get more clothes to take to Tink’s. The other reason is Tink works the bar for club parties and I want to be here for her.

I’m packing some clothes in a duffel bag when there’s a knock at my door.

“Come in,” I shout. As the door opens, I turn around to see who it is only to find Hollywood standing in the doorway.

“Hey, can we talk?” He takes a step into my room.

“Yeah, of course.”

He closes the door behind himself and walks closer. “Tink’s brother is in town.”

“Andy? How long has he been here? Does Tink know?”

“I’m not sure how long he’s been here, but she does know. I was with her before I came here,” he tells me. “Andy is in the hospital. He’s in a coma.”

“What the hell? What happened,” I ask.

“That new drug, Supernova, that’s popping up. He got a hold of it.”

“How long have you known about this?” I growl out.

“I just found out today.”

“How?”

“Kicks’ cousin, Kara, is dating Andy. They were taking Supernova together. They ended up in the hospital last weekend and her injuries weren’t near as bad as his. When we went to visit her, she was in Andy’s room, visiting him,” he explains.

I take a minute to register everything he’s telling me. Tink’s brother has been living in Kansas City with their mom for the past ten years. He’s had a drug problem since he was in high school and their mom moved him away in hopes she could get him help. Tink stayed here in Texas with her grandma. From what Tink has told me, she’s never met her dad. Her grandma passed away not long after Tink graduated high school. She left her house to Tink and that’s when Lolita moved in with her, so she wouldn’t have to be alone.

With Lolita leaving without notice and Tink’s brother being in the hospital due to drugs, I can only imagine how bad she’s probably feeling at the moment. And Hollywood left her by herself.

“So you’re telling me, you went to Tink’s house and told her about Andy. Then, you just left her? I guess it’s what you’re good at.” I turn back to my clothes and bag.

Pain crosses his face as he takes in what I said. “What the hell is that supposed to mean? She calmed down and fell asleep. I didn’t know what else to do.”

“Maybe stop bein’ an idiot and come back to us,” I say. “Finding out her brother is in a coma from using again just adds pain to what she was already feelin’.”

“What do you mean what she was already feelin’?”

“Are you really that oblivious? From missin’ you, dumb ass. We’ve both been hurtin’ since you walked away from us,” I tell him. “This shit isn’t just scary for you. It’s scary for me, too. Difference is, I’m not runnin’ from my feelings.”

Hollywood takes two giant steps toward me and crashes his mouth against mine. I kiss him back but can tell he’s holding back. He pulls back, worry covering his face. I stare into his eyes, attempting to fight back a smirk by biting my lip. Lust dances in his eyes. Grabbing my face in both hands, he slams his lips on mine, not holding back this time. I fist my hands to stop myself from grabbing Hollywood and throwing him down on the bed. His tongue slides across my lip. I part mine, granting him permission. Our tongues dance together in a perfect rhythm.

My phone buzzing on my bedside table interrupts us. When he pulls away this time, we’re both panting. The look in his eyes tells me he wants more. As do I, but it’ll have to wait. By the time I grab my phone, I missed the call. Unlocking the screen, I find a missed call from Tink.

“Looks like our girl is up from her nap.” I hold the phone for him to see. “Wanna come back to her house with me or are you gonna stay here and hide?”

He scoffs. “How can you be so sure she wants me there?”

“How can you truly think she doesn’t?”

Letting out a heavy sigh, he sits on the bed. “There’s a reason I’ve kept this side of me a secret.”
