“I get that,” he says. “Can I have a minute alone?”

“Of course. Party starts in a few hours. I’ll see you then,” I tell him. I stand and walk out of the room, closing the door behind me. I head to my office to attempt to get some work done before things get crazy.

A few hours go by and I’ve barely gotten any work done. The party will be startin’ soon, so I wrap up what I’m doin’ so I can change before I go entertain people.

In my room, I slip my cut off my shoulders and lay it on my bed. Then, I pull my shirt over my head and toss it on the floor by my closet as I flip through the shirts hanging there for a new one to wear. I decide on a plain black tee. Stepping into the bathroom, I check my hair and beard before spraying some cologne on my shirt.

Hell, I never put this much effort into club parties. What’s gotten into me? I shake the thought out of my head and go back to my room. I slip into my cut and walk out of the room. About half the club is already here and music is playing. I’d say the party has already started. I scan the room, taking in who all is here.

My eyes land on Athena. She’s at an angle, her back partially toward me. She’s wearing an off-white dress that accentuates her tan, flawless skin and falls to about mid-thigh. The back of her dress dips down just above her ass. The straps resemble flowers. It shows off enough of her back for me to know she isn’t wearin’ a bra. Around her waist is a thin, gold braided belt that helps show off her hourglass figure. Her hair falls loose around her shoulders.

She’s laughing at somethin’ Marley said to her. Damn, if her smile ain’t enough to light up the whole room. I can’t help but feel a pang of jealousy that I’m not the one that made her laugh like that.

“Who’s that fine piece of ass?” Shadow asks, takin’ a seat next to me at the bar.

“Off limits,” I growl out.

He throws his hands up in defense and chuckles. “Pops has an Ol’ Lady. Who would have guessed?”

“She’s not my Ol’ Lady,” I tell him, turning to face him. Not yet anyway, I think to myself.

“So, you wouldn’t mind if a hang-around hits on her then?” He gestures toward Athena. A newer hang-around is right next to her. Her expression is annoyed.

“He ain’t getting’ anywhere with her. She’s not interested,” I state.

“Hey there, fellas,” a cut bunny says as she sashays her way toward us. She’s new and I can’t remember her name to save my life. “Either of you wanna dance?”

“Hell fuckin’ yeah, I do, darlin’,” Shadow says to her. He stands and drapes his arm over her shoulders. “Let’s have some fun.”

I shake my head, smilin’ as they walk away. I wouldn’t expect him to waste any time when it comes to the cut bunnies. He’s been away far too long. I turn back to Athena. Marley and Sienna are both talkin’ to her and by the looks on their faces, it seems a bit intense. After a couple minutes, Athena turns and walks my way, a shy smile gracing her lips.

Chapter Fifteen

Athena

I’m talking with Sienna and Marley when a guy walks over to us. I haven’t seen him around the clubhouse all week. He’s not wearing a vest like Bull and the other guys. Instead, he’s wearing a t-shirt that saysSupport your local Savage Menaces.

“Hey ladies,” he says, his eyes focused on me.

I give him a tight-lipped smile. I don’t want to be rude, but I’m not the least bit interested in this guy. I’m not interested in anyone. Well, except for maybe Bull.

“Would you like to dance, beautiful?” the guy asks me.

“She’s already spoken for,” Sienna answers for me.

“Yeah? By whom? You?” He turns his attention to her. “I don’t mind sharing.”

“Get the fuck outta here before I get one of the brothers to drag your ass out of here,” Marley snaps at him.

“And who the fuck are you?” the dumbass says to Marley.

“Rascal’s Ol’ Lady.” She turns around and points at her back. Her shirt saysProperty of Rascal.

“So, you wanna try that again, dipshit?” Sienna asks, putting her hand on her hip that’s cocked to the side.

The guy scoffs and shakes his head before walking away.

“That guy willnevermake prospect,” Marley states.
