I check my phone. No missed calls or texts. Bein’ the club Prez, you’d be surprised at the bullshit people text or call me about.

Stepping to my dresser, I grab a fresh pair of boxer briefs and jeans. I slide them on, tossing my towel into the dirty clothes hamper, then move to the closet. I grab a grey t-shirt with the Savage Menaces logo on the front and toss it on, then slide my cut back on. I move back to my dresser to grab some socks and sit on the edge of the bed to put them on, followed by my boots. Once I’m dressed, I step back into the bathroom to put some beard oil in and spray some cologne on.

I walk out of my room, locking the door behind me and head to the main room. Cookie, one of the cut bunnies, is behind the bar. She’s been with the club for a while and doesn’t try to fuck the guys unless they approach her first. She likes to do what she can to help out the Ol’ Ladies and avoids most of the other cut bunnies in order to stay out of their drama. Cookie is also one of the only ones who doesn’t annoy the hell outta me. I walk up to the bar and take a seat.

“How’s it goin’, Prez?” she asks. “I saw you finally got yourself a lady.”

“It would seem as if I did.” I grin at her. “Let me get a beer, please.”

“Sure thing.” She slides open the cooler and grabs a bottle of Bud Light, poppin’ the top off before handin’ it to me.

“Thank you,” I say and take a sip.

“How’s it goin’ ol’ friend?” Ratchet asks, taking a seat next to me.

“Could be better, could be worse,” I reply.

“How’s that lil’ lady of yours? You claimin’ her?” He cocks an eyebrow at me.

I nod my head. “You’re damn right I am.”

“No shit? I never thought I’d see the day,” he laughs. Ratchet was by my side when I was goin’ through Cami’s death. He saw me at my fuckin’ worst.

“It might sound crazy, but I had a dream about Cami last weekend. I swear she was tellin’ me it was time I settle down again,” I admit to him.

“It’s been a long time, brother. I’m just happy you found someone worthy enough of settlin’ down with. Even if she’s damn near Minx’s age,” he laughs.

“She’s a good ten years older than Minx,” I tell him.

“Oh, right, so closer to Shadow’s age than yours,” he says, grinning.

“Fuck you. At least I got a lady,” I point out.

“You got me there. I may or may not have had my eye on someone, though,” he reveals to me.

“Is that so?” I ask with a chuckle. “Who’s the unlucky lady.”

“No one you know, asshole,” he replies.

“AKA no one at all,” I laugh, and he flips me off. “You comin’ to watch the fights tonight?”

“Yeah, I think so. Not shit else to do.” He shrugs.

A few hours later, about half the brothers and all the Ol’ Ladies are hangin’ out at Minx and Raze’s house. The rest of the founders of the Savage Menaces and I built this house for Cami and me when we were first startin’ the club. Since losin’ my two youngest boys, I haven’t been able to live in this house. I knew once Minx became serious with Raze, they would need a place of their own, so I offered it to them. Minx was more than happy to accept it. I’m hopin’ they’ll start fillin’ it up with my grandbabies before too long.

I’m sittin’ on the couch with Athena takin’ in everyone around me. These are the moments I treasure the most. Spendin’ some quality fuckin’ time with my family. I glance around a couple times and realize Shadow isn’t here.

“Has anyone seen Shadow?” I ask the room.

“He said somethin’ about turnin’ in early,” Hollywood tells me.

I nod my head in response. That would make sense. He’d partied pretty hard last night and spent most of the day at the shop seein’ how things were done around there. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had a cut bunny keepin’ his bed warm.

“Is everything okay?” Athena whispers to me.

“Couldn’t be better.” I smile and give her a soft kiss on the lips.
