“Desserts. You and I are working on Bull’s favorite kind of cookies.” She smirks at me.
“Which are what?”
“Snickerdoodle! I got the recipe from Cali,” she tells me.
“When the lockdown is over, I want to go to her bakery,” I say.
“You willloveit! She’s the best,” Sienna gushes. “Alright, let’s get started. First things first, gather the ingredients.”
“What do we need?” I ask.
“Sugar and cinnamon for the topping,” she tells me and then lists off all the other ingredients we’ll need. I mix the sugar and cinnamon together before we move onto the next step.
“Now, we need to whisk the flower, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together,” she says. She measures everything out while I whisk it all together. Then we pull out a hand mixer and start adding the other ingredients. Once the dough is all mixed together, we start making it into little balls, rolling it in the sugar and cinnamon mix before placing it on the cookie sheet. When we’re done, we stick them in the oven to bake. We end up with nearly three dozen snickerdoodle cookies.
We’re about to start making some peanut butter cookies when there’s a popping sound coming from outside.
“I swear to all that is holy if those assholes started fireworks without us, I’m gonna be kickin’ some ass!” Marley shouts.
Sienna and I look at each other and laugh before following the others out of the kitchen and out the front door. As we’re walking out, all the guys are running toward the door.
“What in the actual hell is goin’ on?” Minx asks them.
“Is everyone alright?” Raze asks, looking over Minx before glancing around.
“Yes, we’re all fine. Now, what was that sound?” She folds her arms over her chest.
“Gun shots,” Raze says. He turns to the guys. “Buzz, Kicks, go check in with Smalls.”
The two of them run toward the front gate. Bull pops out of the group, walking straight for me.
“Are you okay?” he asks me.
“Yeah, we thought you guys were shooting off fireworks without us,” I explain.
“Nah, we wouldn’t do that without y’all.” He grins at me.
“Something tells me you all have some set aside to do without us women around,” I say to him.
“I can neither confirm nor deny this,” he chuckles.
“Right,” I draw out. “Guess who I ran into earlier.”
He rolls his eyes. “Again?”
“Yup.” I pop the p. “I threatened to get her kicked out of the clubhouse.”
“How’d that go?” he asks.
“I think it worked. She seemed freaked out,” I tell him.
“Good. I will kick her out if that’s what it comes down to,” he promises.
“I don’t think it will, but thank you.” I stand on my tip toes and give him a kiss on his cheek.
Kicks comes running back to the clubhouse with something in his hand.
“What’s the verdict?” Bull asks him.
