“They fuckin’ took Athena,” I growl out. “Get the women and kids in the bunker, now!”

Raze and Buster run through the clubhouse to the back door. It’s a quicker way to get to the women than running around the outside of the clubhouse.

“Saint, we’re gonna have to call you back. You’re the actin’ chapter Prez, for the time being, make the best judgment call you can. We’ll stand by you,” Ranger says to Saint before hanging up.

“We need to get Tech in here to check the security cameras as quickly as possible,” I tell Ranger. As if on cue, Tech walks through the door.

“I just got done talkin’ to Smalls. He said he was watchin’ the feed the entire time and nothin’ came across leading up to the explosion,” Tech explains. “There’s no fuckin’ way they got in here unnoticed! I’ll be in my cave if anyone needs me. Try not to, though.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so pissed,” Ranger mutters as he walks away.

“He’s got a point, though. With the Russians and the added security Andrei had set up, somethin’ should have been caught on camera,” I say.

“Prez, what if . . .” Ranger starts.

“Don’t fuckin’ go there,” I say through gritted teeth. “His daughter and grandson are part of this club. He wouldn’t betray us.”

“I know they are, but he could have made some kind of deal,” Ranger insists.

“We’re not goin’ there. That’s a dangerous fuckin’ place to go, Rang,” I warn him.

“Bull! We need to talk. Now,” Andrei says, bursting through the front door. “How in the fuck did someone get in and blow up a car?”

“We’re still tryin’ to figure that out,” I tell him. “It seems as if it was a ploy to kidnap Athena. Shortly after she came in to use the bathroom was when the explosion happened. When I came in here to find her, all I found was her phone.”

“Something has happened to my men as well. I have tried to reach out to them and nothing,” Andrei tells me. “I have a couple of men checking out the situation.”

“The cartel must have figured out who they were,” I suggest.

“But how would you explain the security system?” Andrei asks.

“That’s what Tech is workin’ on now,” I tell him.

“You let me know as soon as he tells you something. Until then, I’m taking my daughter and grandson to my house,” he states.

“Of course. And what do you say to taking all the women?” I ask him. “Things could get a little ugly around here in the next couple of days.”

“That can be arranged. I’ll get some cars out here to take them back as soon as possible,” he says.

“Thank you. I owe you one,” I tell him.

He nods his head and walks out of the clubhouse. Shadow walks in through the back door, coming straight for Ranger and me.

“What in the actual hell is goin’ on?” he asks. “Please tell me we’re finally gonna fuckin’ retaliate.”

“Watch your fuckin’ tone with me, boy,” I warn him.

“This is bullshit! All we’ve done is sit around and let them attack us!” he shouts.

“Watch your fuckin tone,” I growl through gritted teeth. “You forget who the fuck you’re talkin’ to.”

He stands toe to toe with me. “I know exactly who the fuck I’m talkin’ to,Pops.”

“I think that’s about enough of that,” Ranger says. He reaches for Shadow’s arm, but Shadow throws his arm back in an attempt to elbow Ranger in the gut. Lucky for Ranger, he sees it comin’ and grabs Shadow’s arm, twisting it behind his back. “I said that’senough.”

“Go take a breather in your room. I’ll let you know when we need you,” I say to Shadow before walking out of the clubhouse, lettin’ Ranger deal with him before I kick my own son’s ass. As if I didn’t have enough shit to worry about, now I gotta figure out what the fuck has gotten into his dumb ass.

Once outside, I glance around. The brothers had got the fire put out and are now assessing the damage. Luckily, the fire didn’t get a chance to spread to anything else. This gives me an excuse to buy Athena a new car when we get her back. She should never have been drivin’ that piece of shit lemon anyway.
