“I'm sorry for being a big baby and throwing a tantrum.”Peck appears at the edge of the group with a scowl still on his face.

“Uncle Peck, that doesn’t sound like a real apology.”Danny folds his arms across his chest and stares him down.“You always say a fake apology doesn’t count.”

Peck lets out a loud sigh before meeting my gaze.“I'm sorry I freaked out.I already told you I approved of you marrying my sister, I shouldn’t have reacted like that.I wasn’t expecting it and I lost it.”

“I really thought you knew… Though I guess I should’ve confirmed, especially when you didn’t say anything to us about it.I figured one of the kids would’ve told you by now.”

“No, the one time they actually decide to keep their mouths shut,” he huffs.

It doesn’t take us long to unpack the cars and help Sophia and Pecker put everything away. They brought a lot of their stuff home a few weeks ago when they came to walk through the bakery and for Peck to meet with Mason about his new job at Bennett Bradley Security.

Addi and Wes were kind enough to open their home up to us.They said there was no reason for us to pay for a hotel or sleep on the floor at Sophia and Peck’s house when they have four spare bedrooms sitting empty.

They let each of the kids stay in their own room so we wouldn’t have to share too.I'm more than appreciative of their generosity, especially with us staying for so long.

We tried to tell them it was too much, but they insisted they didn’t mind one bit.I think Wes secretly wants to play with the kids.Addi said he’s impatiently waiting for Carter to get big enough to actually do something other than sleep. He wants so badly to be a fun grandpa.

“Are we ready to go?”Wes lifts Bree into his arms and presses a kiss to her cheek. He has a Pit Bulls baseball cap sitting backwards on his head and Bree tugs it off and places it on her own head.It covers her eyes and she giggles but she doesn’t mind one bit.

“Why do I feel like I'm losing my little girl to all of these other guys?”I grumble under my breath as Sydney slips her hand into mine and we head out of the house.

“You’re not losing her.”Sydney chuckles.“Though if I were you, I’d enjoy this little vacation.Wes and Addi are amazing and they’re basically babysitting our kids for us.When we get back to Maple Springs, we’re all they have.Let all of us enjoy this.As soon as we’re back in that car, you’ll be her number one man.”Sydney nudges my shoulder with hers.

“Am I going to lose you to someone else too?”I arch a brow.

“No!No one else could keep my attention when I have you.”

We climb inside the car and it takes about twenty minutes to get to the stadium. When we get there, Wes parks in a special lot for players and family members. We get to move through the stadium where fans aren’t allowed access to.When we step into the box Wyatt got us, my eyes widen. This is amazing.

There’s a bunch of food set up to the side and a table full of drinks. There’s a bathroom in the corner and the rest of the room is full of seating.

“This is awesome!”Danny takes a seat and stares through the glass at the field.

“Do you always watch the games like this?”I ask Wes.

“Never.”He chuckles.“We normally slum it in normal seats.Wyatt thought it would be cool for you guys to get this experience though.Plus, it gives the kids room to move around.”

“Is anyone else coming?”I glance around at how many seats there are.I hope they didn’t do all of this just for us.

“Sophia and Peck will be here soon. She was meeting with Blake again about her bakery.Apparently, Sydney pointed out something else she should have so now she wants that fixed ASAP.Thanks for that, Syd.”Wes rolls his eyes.

“Hey, wouldn’t you rather fix it now, before she opens?”

“Yeah, I’d do anything to make my little girl happy and she knows it.I think she even takes advantage of me because of it.”He shakes his head, but there isn’t a hint of anger. He loves her so much and doesn’t care what she asks for.“Blake’s and Hunter’s families will be here. The twins will come after their game is over. There will probably be other people from Mulberry Lane that will show up too.”

“Do you all have season tickets for the Pit Bulls and the Pythons?”Sydney asks as she takes a seat.

“We don’t really have a choice.”Addi chuckles.“I'm pretty sure the kids would never let us live it down if we didn’t come to every game we could.”

“They never really grow up,” Wes adds.“They just get bigger and more expensive.”

“Welcome to tonight’s game!”The announcers’ voice fills the room and Danny’s face lights up as he sits on the edge of his seat and watches the field.“Tonight, we’d like to welcome Danny Pecker and Maverick McKay onto the field to throw the first pitch of the night.”

“What?”I whisper as Danny jumps to his feet.

“C’mon, Maverick!Uncle Wyatt told me he was going to ask Owen if you could throw the first pitch, but I didn’t think they’d actually let you!”

Danny pulls on my hand and leads me out of the box.Right outside the door is security to lead us down to the field. As soon as I step on the turf, Wyatt appears at our side.
