His eyes watching her was pushing her close to the edge, and the way he looked at her said that he knew it too. Luke inserted two fingers into her, and she almost lost it.

“Not yet,” Isaac rumbled. “Look at me, and don’t come until I say you can.”

Ellea whimpered, and Luke didn’t let up to give her a chance to compose herself. Isaac sauntered over to her, never breaking eye contact. She was going to lose it fast if something didn’t change. Aiden was still playing with her nipples and now biting at her shoulders. It was too much. She whimpered again. Isaac bent down and grasped her face in his hand with the slightest roughness.

“You are powerful and you are so damn beautiful.” He kissed her long and rough. She forgot how to breathe, and when he finally pulled away, reconnecting their deep eye contact, he set her free. “Come for us, beautiful.”

With those last words, she did. Luke held her down and never let go as she rode the waves of her climax. He lapped up her release like it was all he’d ever craved. Her body was slick with sweat, but Aiden continued licking and nipping at her neck.

“I’ve been waiting for that sound all night,” Aiden whispered in her ear.

Isaac’s eyes still held hers, and when she was finally done shaking, he stood, slowly unbuttoning his pants.

“Now, let’s get started,” he said.

The moon wasbright and high in the sky as everyone’s celebrations came to an end. Families said their last goodbyes to their loved ones. Young witches would enter their rooms with big smiles on their faces, knowing they had blessings as they entered a new phase of their lives. All the happiness in the world couldn’t stop Ellea from feeling restless.

As their own celebration for Lughnasadh came to its end, it was impossible to not feel the power pulsing between the four of them. Ellea could feel it under her skin, heat and electricity crackling there. Luke and Aiden had curled into each other, and Ellea faced Isaac. She gazed up at him, and she could tell he knew he held a powerful monster, one he greatly coveted and ached for.

The boys’breathing evened with sleep, and Ellea took that as her cue to leave. She slowly detached Isaac’s arm from around her waist and slid out of bed as quietly as possible. The house opened the bedroom door for her without making a sound, and Ellea left on silent footsteps.

Once she was halfway across the house, she relaxed and continued heading toward her bedroom. Heavy footsteps sounded behind her. She tried to hurry, hoping whoever it was only heading to their own room or the bathroom. She would be a liar if she said she hadn’t expected what happened next.

“I thought tonight would be different,” Isaac said, heading toward her.

Ellea turned, and, without trying to hide her sigh, she answered, “why would tonight be any different?”

“It just felt that way. You seemed different,” he said, reaching out his hand. “You used your powers more freely, and I thought you were getting more relaxed. Come back to bed.”

“Things haven’t changed, Isaac. I’m going to shower and head to bed.” She walked up to him and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. “I will see you in the morning.” She tried to turn away from him to continue to her side of the house, but Isaac wasn’t done.

“Why won’t you let us in? Don’t you care about our feelings?” he demanded, anger flashing across his face. “How do you think Luke and Aiden feel knowing you can just leave them after a night like that?” He moved towards her while she slowly backed away.

“This is how it is and how it will always be, Isaac. There is no changing how I feel or what I choose to do.”

“You aren’t being fair, Ellea. We aren’t objects you can just use when you feel like it,” he said cruelly.

“I’m pretty sure all of us use each other for the same things. Don’t pin this on me,” she said, crossing her arms across her chest.

“You owe us more, and you need to stop letting your fears get in the way of us.” He tried to take another step closer to her, but the house stopped him, throwing up an invisible barrier between them.

“Goodnight, Isaac.” She didn’t wait for a response. She continued toward her room, letting his words wash over her.

He wasn’t completely wrong, and she cared. But she had never slept in the same bed as anyone but Billy. No one needed to be woken up by her nightmares or wonder why she couldn’t fall asleep. And where would Billy sleep if someone else was in the bed? She thought about all of this as she headed straight for the shower. It was already running, steam wafting out of the glass doors. She needed to wash off the night and her feelings.

After about thirty minutes under the scalding water, she still felt bothered by the night; not the amazing sex, but what had happened before and after. Sybil’s words were mixing with Isaac’s in her mind, and she felt a fresh wave of unease creeping in. She couldn’t let it suffocate her. She didn’t bother drying off and crawled into bed, ready to do her best to forget what had been said tonight.

Billy always knew when she was needed. She bounded into the bedroom. Her new collar was nowhere to be seen, and she had a few leaves stuck in her fur.

I figured you would have still been tied up. Isn’t it early?Billy said telepathically.

“No, it’s not, and mind your business. How about you? You look like you have been romping around in the forest.” Ellea pulled back the blankets to let Billy jump into bed. Billy gave an aggressive shake to rid herself of the leaves and hopped in.

Maybe I was, and maybe you should mind your own business, too.
