She panted, resting her hand on his chest. His heart beat as hard as hers.

“Dream,” she breathed. “It was a dream.”

She shivered, still feeling the coldness of the night.

“Are you sure?” The dagger disappeared, and he pulled her closer.

His skin lit up as his veins ran red, and she melted into his heat.

“M-maybe,” she stuttered.

He squeezed her tighter.

“So much for hoping we would have a restful sleep after our evening.” He smirked against her head, kissing her hair.

“I’m okay. It felt quick,” she said, thinking back to what she saw. “Did the other wolven leave yet?”

“Not till tomorrow, after they sleep off their hangovers. Why?”

“I saw two vampires, and now I’m wondering if my magic pulled me into a vision,” she said lightly, trying to chase away the flicker of fear that had come with the second part of her dream. “They mentioned the wolven had left and said it was the perfect time to attack. They were also in Glenover, near the valley we usually go to.”

“Fuck,” Ros growled. “We need clothes.”

Ellea quickly conjured them both clothes, and Ros instantly portaled them to Sam’s bedroom. Ellea smacked his chest as soon as the sounds of what her friends were doing in the darkness reached her ears.

“Playing bottom, Sam?” Ros called from the shadows.

Ellea covered her eyes as Devon and Sam cursed. She heard someone fall to the floor, and Ros laughed beside her.

“You’re a fuck nugget,” Sam yelled.

Ellea peeked through her fingers to see Sam in bed with a pillow clutched against his crotch and Devon on the floor wrapped around a blanket. She couldn’t stop her stomach from dropping every time she saw Sam’s scar, a jagged cut from his temple to his beautiful amber eye. And the one across his perfect nose… She wanted to find the demon responsible for them, bring it back to life, and flay it alive.

“Emergency meeting,” Ros said, bringing her out of her thoughts. He cocked his head as though he was listening. “Garm is here with Billy.”

“At least they had the decency to arrive in the living room,” Sam growled. “You’re going to pay for this.”

“You have five minutes to finish and get dressed.” Ros began pushing Ellea out of the bedroom.

She threw an apologetic grimace over her shoulder before Ros led her through the old farmhouse toward the kitchen.

“Does Devon look bigger to you?” Ellea asked.

“Not sure, he was covering his dick up,” Ros answered blandly.

“Gods, you suck sometimes.” She huffed. “His muscles.”

“He’s been training harder since your…trip,” he said.

More guilt washed over her. Devon had been through so much because they’d “needed” to rescue her from Hel. She wanted to make sure that Devon never needed to worry again. She was glad he was training, but still hated the reasoning.

All of her friends had been through too much because of her, and she cursed how magic could be wonderful and useless at the same time.

Why weren’t inter-realm cell phones a thing?

“Maybe Devon can join our training,” Ellea said. “Florence, too, when she’s here?”

“Maybe,” he said thoughtfully. “I’ve been meaning to brush him up on a few things when we had time. But with your latest vision, that will have to be put on hold.”
