“With work, I know,” he cut me off. “I’m still mad.”

I slipped my hands around his waist. “What do I have to do to make it up to you?”

“You can start by staring at me until I’m ready to leave,” he teased, a smile tugging at his lips.

“I’ve already been doing that,” I murmured, leaning down to kiss his cheek.

“I know. You’re a leery old man.” His eyes sparkled as I laughed.

“Yeah, but I’myourleery old man.” His lips parted slightly, and I couldn’t resist adding, “You look hot. I couldn’t help myself.”

Ethan tugged on my neck, pulling me in to a kiss. His lips were soft, teasing me as I followed his lead.

When he pulled back, I couldn’t help but ask, “When can I get you to myself?”

He narrowed his eyes playfully. “When you’redyingfor it.”

“I’m already there,” I replied, capturing his lips in a harsher kiss, holding him in place. “I missed you,” I confessed against his mouth.

“Then stop leaving. That way, you don’t have to miss me. You could do whatever you’d like with me.”

I smiled. When Ethan drank, his confidence shot up, giving me glimpses of the bold, unguarded version of him. “I’ll never leave again,” I said, knowing full well it was a lie.

“Lying, leery old man,” he said with a click of his tongue, making me laugh before I kissed him again.

“When are you leaving again? Aria didn’t say,” he asked, holding me at arm’s length.

“I’m not. The next time I’m on a plane, you’re coming with me,” I told him, watching surprise flicker across his face.

“Are you serious?”

I nodded, leaning down to kiss his neck. “Dead serious. Pack a bag and let your roommate know she won’t see you for a while.”

He pulled back, studying me. “That’s still a week away.”

“I know. But I’m not leaving. Come stay at my place. I’ll be gone most of the day, but at night? You’re all mine,” I told him, my voice dropping.

Ethan blinked, processing, before slowly nodding. “Sure.”

I wasted no time pulling him back into a kiss. Ethan wrapped his arms around my neck, rising onto the balls of his feet to reach me. I slid my hands to his waist and lifted him off the ground, earning a laugh against my lips.

“Put me down,” he said, squirming slightly.

“My back hurts if I have to bend down that much.”

“Fuck you. It’s not my fault you’re old.”

“You’re fucking disrespectful, is what you are.” I set him back on his feet.

He kissed just below my ear, his breath warm against my skin. “What are you going to do? Spank me if I misbehave?” he whispered, sending a jolt through me. I groaned, and he chuckled softly. “You’re totally into that, aren’t you?”

“I’m into anything involving close contact with your ass.” To further prove my point, my hands slid down and grabbed.

“Handsy, lying, leery old man,” he joked, trying to pry me away.

A soft knock on the door interrupted us, and Ethan pushed me back as Henry poked his head in.

“See how I remembered to knock, even though this is my space?”
