“I can picture Cass trying to get you off the beach and onto the bike, high as hell, and let me tell you…in my head, that’s some funny shit.”
“Definitely funny shit. He’d be so pissed!” I laugh.
“What do your guys think of y’all smoking?” I ask, looking at Carrie and Lucy.
“Mine doesn’t give a damn. We dabble in shit all the time.” Carrie’s answer takes me by surprise. I didn’t realize how much things went on around me that she wasn’t aware of.
“Mine doesn’t care either.”
After hearing their answers, I wonder how Cass feels about it. We never talked about that kind of thing. I don’t know if he dabbles in anything, if he’s against it, nothing. He couldn’t disapprove that much considering his lifestyle, could he?
The thought alone makes me question whether I had just disrespected him or not. Pondering, I pull a pack of cigarettes out of my pocket and light one. My mouth is already drier than the desert in a drought and I know a cigarette won’t help, but damn I want one.
“Can I have one of those?” Mindy asks, extending her hand out.
“Of course.” I set one in her hand along with my lighter.
The four of us sit on the beach in this exact spot until the sun is gone and darkness begins to take over. We talk about our lives and I learn that Carrie and Lucy have only been around the Hounds for six months. That’s why their husbands are still prospects and don’t have a full patch yet. They are still proving themselves.
Chatter from the men grows louder and I look behind us to find a group of men approaching us. I can’t make out their faces, but I hear Cass’s voice louder than the rest.
“Hey, you!” I beam and stand up to greet Cass. My arms wrap around his neck and I drag him to me. He doesn’t hesitate and places a kiss on my lips ever so gently. The smile that I wore before only amplifies as his lips touch mine. My buzz is still intact, but I feel great. Giddy more than anything.
Carrie, Lucy and Mindy all stand up to find that Leo, Shorty, and Linc accompany Cass.
“You found me,” I say through half-squinted eyes.
“You were never lost, baby. Prospects.” He waves his hand at the three prospects that stand behind him. It was then I realize that we hadn’t snuck off at all. We were watched. Although we weren’t followed, we were watched.
I roll my eyes. “How could I forget?” My voice is laced with light sarcasm.
Cass chuckles and pulls me tighter to him, kissing me again. This time, it isn’t a light kiss. His lips flush against mine at first, then his tongue invades my mouth. As soon as my tongue connects with his, that familiar rush of electricity shoots directly to my core. It’s overwhelming and for a moment, I forget where I am…what I’m doing...who I’m with…because the only thing my brain can process is the whirlwind of lust and desire for this man.Myman.
Chatter around us sucks me back to the present and I pull away enough to catch my breath. Cass’s lips twitch at the sides, giving me that signature smirk that makes me weak in the knees. My smile mirrors Cass’s before he kisses my forehead and turns around. His arms wrap around me affectionately and he rests his chin on my shoulder.
"I love you." His declaration is unexpected, but welcoming.
"And I love you," I say, turning my head toward him to kiss his cheek. There is a giddy feeling reverberating inside my chest, making my heart full and happy.
"What do you say we spend the next few days here? Maybe we could grab a hotel or stay with the Highway Sinners."
My head snaps toward him in surprise. "Really? I would abso-fuckin-lutely love that!"
Cass's eyes dance with amusement at my excitement. "Me too. I'll let the guys know."
Chapter Three
Lilly
Five hours ago, Cass told the Hounds that we are staying in Gulfport for the next few days. Everyone’s gone home except Clayton. Linc left to take Mindy home, but he checked in with Cass to let him know he’s on his way back an hour ago. He’s trying to earn his place in this club, and I have no doubt that he will have his patch in no time.
The benefit is long over, my high is gone, and the after party is just getting started at the Highway Sinners’ clubhouse. I stifle a yawn, realizing that my night has only just begun. The clubhouse here isn’t much different from the one of the Hounds. There’s a full bar equipped with a multitude of liquor, and like the Hounds’ clubhouse, this one also has a second story that I’m told holds bedrooms for the out of town members that come to visit as well as guests of the club.
The biggest difference between the two clubhouses, though, is the stage in the center of the large, open room with a stripper pole in the middle of it. A tall, tattooed blonde spins around on the pole while a circle of men stand around the stage. She has perfect, perky fake tits covered in colorful ink that draws my attention. I can’t look away; the woman is mesmerizing. Her looks, the way her body sways and rolls on and around the pole.
A strong, steady hand wraps around me and I don’t have to look to see who it is. There’s only one man in this room brave enough to wrap his arms around Cass’s ol’ lady, and that’s Cass himself.
"You like what you see?" Cass asks.
