Kinsley disappeared through the crowd, probably headed to the bathroom. I could talk to her in the hallway, maybe kiss her.
I set my glass on the bar. "I'll be right back."
Cooper winked at me. "See someone you like?"
I just gave him a look and stalked toward the bathroom. I didn't want Kinsley to think that I'd pick up any of these women. I wasn't that guy anymore.
I eased through the crowds, making my way to the quieter area of the bar inside and the hall that led to the bathrooms.
I didn't see Kinsley anywhere. She must have been inside the bathroom. I leaned against the wall to wait.
A woman pressed her palm against my chest, drawing my attention. I wanted to remove it, but at the same time, I didn't want to be rude.
A smile curved over her face. "You look even better in person."
I raised a brow. "You think because you saw me online that you could just touch me?"
"You know you want me to," she purred, her hand moving lower as if my question was an invitation.
I caught it before she got to my belt buckle. "I'm not interested."
Someone bumped into the woman, and she pressed her tits against my chest. I winced at the overpowering smell of the perfume she wore.
That's when I saw the back of Kinsley's head as she walked away.
I dropped the woman's wrist and sidestepped her. "I'm with her."
I didn't bother waiting for the woman to react. I rushed to catch up with Kinsley. I touched her shoulder, and she turned. "That wasn't what it looked like."
"That woman's hand wasn't on your body?"
My shoulders tightened. "Well, yes, but I was in the process of removing it when you walked by."
She crossed her arms over her chest. "It didn't look like you were in a hurry to remove it."
I looked away. "She took me by surprise?—"
"It's the videos." She shook her head. "I shouldn't be surprised. I knew this would happen. You're irresistible."
"I only care that I'm irresistible to you." But she was already moving away from me.
I let her go, wishing there was more I could say or do.
Chapter Twenty-Two
Kinsley
I walked back to our table, feeling unsettled. I didn't like those women coming onto Shep, but it wasn't anything unusual. He attracted women wherever he went. The videos just increased interest in him.
When I returned, Elena asked, "Is everything okay?"
"I ran into Shep outside the bathroom. The women sure love him in those videos."
Elena smiled. "I'm sure he doesn't mind the attention."
After seeing all these women come onto him, why would he stay with me? How could I ever be enough?
Maybe I wasn't cut out for this. I needed a guy who didn't attract women like bees to honey. I wanted to be first in someone's life. And right now, this didn't feel good.
