“Understood,” we answer simultaneously.

I check my messages, and the ambulance was dumped along with all her things. Damn it. It only gives us a small lead.“It looks like all our trackers are lost unless she has one we don’t know about.”

My dad pulls out an older model phone and smirks. “Get ready for war, boys. All her trackers were disposed of, save one. The signal is faint, so we have to get moving just in case they move.”

My godfather smirks and then says, “I’m sure it’s the one that I had put in her hip when she was thirteen.” I look at her father like he’s twisted, but I also want to hug him.

 “In her hip?”

“Yes, it was a crazy idea, but I thought it was for the best.”

“It took me forever to get the damn system to run.”

 “Thanks, Cyber.”

 “You should have told me.”

“It was Cyber who remembered because he had similar devices on your mother. I fucking forgot about it. I don’t know if you noticed that I had a damn heart attack when you told me someone took my daughter.”

“Where is she?” I asked my father.

 “In the fucking woods.”

We all move like our asses are on fire. Nothing can stop me from getting to my woman. Luckily we were already prepared to go so my men had the vehicles set. “We need to get moving because it’s about forty miles from here and I want all of them dead.”

“You don’t believe they killed her, do you?” Milo asks as we hit the road.

“You better pray they haven’t,” I say to Milo. I mean that with my whole heart. No one will come out alive today, and I will bury every single body that laid a hand on my precious Elsa.

“I’ll kill myself,” he mutters. I think to myself that he won’t have to.

“Let’s go. We need an arsenal.” We take three large SUVs while I have my men already in the vicinity looking for her. They won’t approach without my orders. If something happens to my Elsa because they fucked up, I’ll enjoy every minute of slow torture I give them.

“We brought one,” Boomer says with a grin. Blade pulls out his favorite knife, and I can’t shake the violent pleasure I’m feeling. I want to rip apart everyone involved. It will be fun.

“Thank you.” I knew we could count on them. They were always ready for war and we need the best. My men are good, but nothing like the Riders. I heard so many stories through my childhood, including the one about my mother’s attack and I never thought I’d have the same problem. I’m grateful to have them at my side.

We’re nearly on top of the beacon, so we keep our distance and unload what we need for a ground and aerial assault. My heart pounds in my chest as I consider what he’s probably doing to her. I close my eyes and pray she has the strength to hold out until I get there.

The house is in the middle of nowhere. It appears to be a small shack made of wood, but it’s clearly not. Underneath, it’s a layer of steel. My father’s tools are brought out to scan the area for bombs and traps. Any metal and surveillance are the first things we pick up on. We’re just two klicks away from the location. There are ten men surrounding the cabin, letting us know she’s alive. If she wasn’t, there would be no need for security.

I send up a silent thank you for that, but now it’s time to get her out safely.

My father pulls me in for a one-armed hug. “We will get her back, and then we will destroy them all.”

“There is a surveillance system, but I can dummy it up and it won’t trace us. It’s not a heat sensing one. It’s probably because of the wildlife. They were either too cheap or annoyed by the constant animals in the area. Either way, it’s not up. They do have four sensors on the perimeter to go off if anyone crosses this area, but I’ve already turned them off. They are simpletons. Now, fellas, it’s time to go old school.”

“Boys, we taught you how to fight and how to kill. Don’t lose your nerve, or you will be the one to die.”

“Yes, Uncle,” Miles tells Blade. He taught us how to use every weapon with precision.

“Here you go.” He hands me a special blade. “For your future wife, exact the revenge you deserve.” He pats my back. It means the world to me that I have their respect and assistance. I know they’re doing because she’s their family, but also because I’m right for her.

 “Thanks.”

“Listen up, I have a plan,” Blade says. He breaks it down step by step and we all agree even if Milo isn’t happy that he’s left with little chance of confronting the bastard before I do. He had his chance and failed.

We stealthily move along the wooden path with the least number of leaves. Blade and I take the high ground, going from the trees with a zip line while the rest move along the forest floor.
