Pike’s Daddy senses were definitely tingling, but the prank was harmless and honestly hilarious. He couldn’t wait to see how the rest of it unfolded and was just thankful that Dallas was fitting in and felt safe enough to be exploring her Little side even more.
He excused them to go eat breakfast and cracked up all over again when he saw boo-bies wherever he looked. There was no way just one Little had orchestrated this. It must have been a gaggle of Littles.
“Boo-bies.” Dallas giggled again.
Sadie and Hayleigh smiled and waved when they saw Dallas and Pike. They made their way to them, giggling the whole way over. “Did you see all the boobies?” Sadie asked, once they were in ear shot.
“Boo-bies,” Dallas corrected.
Sadie and Hayleigh looked at each other before dissolving into giggles. “Boo-bies!” they squealed.
“Did you do this, Dallas?” Sadie asked, her eyes full of excitement.?
Dallas gasped and clutched her chest like she was very offended. “Oh my! I’m wounded you’d even think such a thing! Honored, but wounded.”?
Pike almost snorted at her act.?If he’d had any doubts, his Little girl’s overly dramatic denial to Sadie and Hayleigh convinced him his Daddy senses were still right on target. However, he chose not to challenge her at the moment.
“Well, whoever did it is brilliant. This is one of the funniest pranks ever.”??
Dallas smiled proudly. “I think maybe they was very brilliant too.”?
Oh, his? cheeky little girl.
The bell rang and Sadie and Hayleigh rushed off to class giggling about Boo-bies all the way.
Daddy set Dallas on her feet and she held his pocket. “Oh, it looks like they have a spooky breakfast spread today, Bitty.”
Spooky?” she asked. Pike enjoyed the way her eyes lit up. She lifted to her tiptoes so she could see the buffet-style breakfast.
“I see pancakes shaped like spiders or pumpkins, green oatmeal, and candy corn fruit trays,” Pike said, listing off all the fun options.
“Oh! Can I has a spideranda pumpkin, Dada?”
“You sure can, babygirl. Both of those look very yummy,” he answered, adding food to both their plates.
They sat in their regular spots. Pike would miss their new routine once they were back home but was determined to adjust it to fit their schedules. He lifted the spoon to her mouth.
“Dada?” she asked, pushing the spoon away.
“Yes, Bitty?”
“Will it still be like this when we get home?”
“Like what, baby?”
“Like…” she paused as she thought. “Will I still be a little Little? Will we has time? Back home we’re so super busy. It would be hard to leave all of this dynamic at Rawhide. I don’t think I could do that.”
His? heart stirred in sympathy. “We willabsolutelyhave time, little one. The age you explored during our time at Rawhide Ranch seems to be a better fit for you than the six-year-old you had been playing at. After spending almost two weeks here, we’ve found what works best for us and we will one hundred percent be taking that home with us.”
“Will you still has time to change me and feed me and rocks me?”
Pike lifted his hand and stroked her cheek gently. “I will, Bitty. Daddy loved those special moments with you way too much to leave them here at the Ranch.”
“I loved them too, Dada. All of them. Even the diapers.”
Dipping his head, Pike pressed a kiss to her mouth. “I’m glad you loved the things we explored even though they were hard at first.”
She nodded. “You was right. I needed to try the new fings.”
