Dallas had always known she was so lucky to have Daddy, but it didn’t stop her from being amazed with him sometimes.

CHAPTER 15

THURSDAY

“Are we going to go eat in the cafeteria, Daddy?” Dallas asked as Pike carried her onto the elevator.

“Not today, Bitty. I’m worried that everyone will want to check on you if they see us in the cafeteria and that may be a bit overwhelming for you. I think we will try the cafe this morning,” Pike explained to his overly excited Little girl. He wished he’d waited until her ouchie head was better before creating Host a Ghost. He worried in all of her excitement she was going to bounce around too much and hurt herself.

“Okay, Daddy. Good idea,” she agreed.

She rested her head on his shoulder and he swayed back and forth with her. Teefs dangled from one of her hands.

“You’ll have to remind Teefs she can’t peek at Niki Rope and Danica. You know how naughty she can be,” he told Dallas.

She nodded against him. “I will give her a very stern talking to.”

Pike chuckled. He wasn’t sure Teefs even owned listening ears.

When the doors opened, Pike stepped out with Dallas in his arms and headed toward the cafe. He nodded his head in greeting to Derek as he stood in the doorframe of his office.

“I was hoping to catch you today. How is Dallas feeling?” Derek asked.

Dallas kept her face buried in Pike’s neck and his heart stirred in sympathy for her. He was sure it was hard to have most of the Ranch know you got hurt. Rubbing her back gently, he answered Derek. “She’s doing much better. I’m going to keep her out of the nursery today, but she will be back tomorrow. I think we’re going to do some shopping and visit the petting zoo.”

“Well, I’m so glad to hear that. I think the petting zoo will be a lot of fun for a recovering Little girl. Maybe we could arrange a playdate for when Dallas is feeling better.”

“I think she would love that. She likes to look for Sadie in the cafeteria in the mornings.”

The Ranch Master smiled. “I’m proud to know my Little girl is making everyone feel welcome. She adores Dallas as well,” he said.

“Well, I am going to get this one to breakfast, but thank you again for the dinner invitation,” Pike said.

“Of course. Y’all enjoy.”

Once they were out of earshot, Dallas whispered excitedly. “Daddy! Sadie likes me!”

“Of course she likes you, Bitty. You’re amazing!”

He chuckled when she sighed deeply into his neck. “You hasta say that ‘cause you’re my Daddy. Is in the Daddy handbook.”

Pike patted her butt fondly. “Even if it was a requirement in the Daddy handbook, I’d still believe you were the most amazing Little girl ever.”

She kissed his neck before he settled her into a highchair in the cafe. He buckled her into the chair before pulling it a bit closer to the table. Sitting down, he picked up a menu.

“Do you feel like chocolate chip pancakes in your belly?” he asked her, knowing how much she loved pancakes.

“Oh, yas please, Daddy!”

“Do you want almond milk? or apple juice?” Pike asked, pleased to see they offered a dairy-free alternative.

She tapped her chin as she thought. Fucking precious.

“Almond milk, Daddy.”

“Good choice, Bitty.”

“What are you gonna have, Teefs?” she asked, dancing Teefs around the highchair tray.
