“And this is why I’m like this.”
“Like what? Crazy as hell? You can’t put that on me. You’ve been crazy far before I came along. But I love it. Hurry up, let’s go before I say fuck it,” Reign spoke, walking into the cold night air.
“Don’t let that pussy get your ass in trouble,” Markus grumbled, grabbing her by the back of the pants she wore and pulling her into him. “Touching doors. You know we don’t do that.”
Reign giggled as he kissed her face and stepped out in front of her. “Sorry, it started to jump, and I needed to get away from you.”
“Let her jump, I’ll talk to her later.”
“Yeah nigga!”Angel shouted as he sped away from the crime scene. “They said I couldn’t do shit! I’m Angel nigga! I got bodies. Niggas, bitches, all them. Cuttin’ me off? Never muhfucka! Yeah! Big boss shit, give me the fuckin’ city.”
Angel, high out of his mind, sped down the street, swerving in and out of traffic toward his spot. He felt alive, finally feeling like he wasn’t so much of a fuck up. Never mind that his erraticshooting could’ve hit Cyn or another innocent bystander. Never mind that his brother told him to stand down until he returned from Ocean City with Javier in his back pocket. Angel didn’t care about that anymore. He wanted his respect, and he was going to get it one way or another.
He dialed his brother’s number and waited for an answer. No one had heard from Brantley since he got to Ocean City. For the ones that sent him, they weren’t shocked. The way Javier partied and offered up women and drugs, Brantley was weak to temptation. He was deep into the depths of whatever Javier had to offer.
When Brantley’s voicemail hit Angel’s ears, he huffed. “Man fuck him, too.”
Angel hung up and stared off into the distance. “I’m not waiting no more. I’m getting what’s mine.”
From his car to inside the apartment, he dropped his body down on the couch, snorted and few lines, and groaned in bliss. “You the fuckin’ man. You about to be the fuckin’ man. Fuck Money and fuck his bitch. Fuck ya mama, too. This our shit. Whole city gonna be bowing to me. Watch, me muhfucka. Watch me.”
“Are you enjoying yourself?”Javier asked with a slither in his voice.
The python amongst the snakes and Brantley blended into the viper’s nest with ease. He snorted up the residual powder in his nostrils and smiled lazily at the naked woman gyrating before him. It’d been days of this. No business discussed, only an endless supply of drugs and women.
“Yeah, you got it fuckin’ lit here,” Brantley spoke, sitting up to touch the woman in front of him, but Javier stopped him. “What?”
“You’ve been fuckin’, snortin’, and eatin’ for free. Why the fuck are you here? Hm?” Javier questioned.
What Brantley didn’t realize was that though Javier played with his nose, he was sharper than his prey. Brantley’s appearance here after the wake of dead bodies and Markus’ refusal to partake raised the red flags for him.
Brantley sat back and peered at Javier.
“Why the fuck did Money send you?” Javier asked.
“To find your weaknesses. He has your bitch. Been fucking her and all,” Brantley announced.
Javier smirked, knowing that the information came too freely. He didn’t have any use with Reign now. He just refused for another man to have her. When he got her back, he was going to kill her for the hell of it. He didn’t miss her, didn’t love her, nor did he care about her. For him, it was all about control. No one escaped him and lived to tell the story. No one. Not even Brantley.
“And you stayed for what? You had ample amount of time to kill me. Ample opportunities. What is it that can Javi do for you?”
Brantley looked at the bloated man and chuckled to himself. He’d be foolish to believe he could return to Majestic Heights without Javier’s pipeline. Just like Javier was foolish to believe that Reign didn’t remember the things Javier did or the enemies he made.
“When you drop that nigga, put me over his organization. I deserve that shit,” Brantley spoke like an entitled child. He didn’t deserve anything but a bullet between his eyes and an unmarked grave.
Javier turned to look at the naked woman waiting for her next command.
“His dick, your mouth,” he ordered.
She didn’t waste a second getting to business and putting Brantley in a position where he couldn’t think straight, let alone fight back. Too high, too deep, too lost in the darkness to see the light.
“I’ll give you whatever you want. In two days you’ll go back. You’ll tell him I want a meeting. I want to see how he’s moving my product. I’ll handle him and that bitch then. For now, enjoy all this pussy.”
Javier roamed out of space with a handful of women of his own. Brantley was left on the sofa with no care about what was happening back home or who needed him. In the belly of the beast, and he was too impaired to realize he was being eaten alive. In the middle of the orgy, with no regard for time, all the things Markus attempted to drill into his head. Like watch your enemy, never be too eager, keep her nose clean, and never shit where you eat were all faded memories. He felt like a king, and in his mind, he deserved this feeling without any sowing of the harvest.
He was as good as dead.
“B!I need you to call me back. Your phone keeps going to voicemail. I’ve been trying to call you for days. I can’t stay here. The detective …the detective is dead. Neveah is dead. I-I don’t know what to do. I can stay here, I … I need you. Please call me back. Please. I’m packing what I can to head to my parents in The Falls. Please meet me there. Please,” Cyn, frightened andpleading for some sort of solace, didn’t realize in her panic that there would be none.
