“Not yet,” he says. “If you’re good during breakfast, maybe I’ll reward you.”

So. Fucking. Hot. “Okay. I mean, yes, Sir.”

He nods, pleased.

We get out of the bath and he starts to dry me off first, even though he’s dripping all over the bath mat.

“I can do this,” I say, trying to take the towel from him.

He holds tightly to the towel. “Don’t deny me the opportunity to care for you.”

The words are intense, his voice low. He really means this; he isn’t teasing.

“Yes, Sir,” I say.

Wrapping the towel around me, he uses the ends to pull me close to him, and he kisses my cheek. “I’m so happy you came back, Autumn.”

I watch his face, those pretty blue eyes shining with emotion. The rough, square angles of his jaw, the furrow in his brow. His broad shoulders bunch with tension as he holds me in place.

“I want to take care of you. It means a few things. I want you to stay with us. I want to feed you. Shelter you. Protect you. Punish you when you misbehave. Give you as many orgasms as you want when you’re a good girl.” He pauses, takes a breath. “It’s a lot to ask of you. But will you let me?”

Will I let this handsome vampire move me into his library and take care of me? I doubt he means forever, but I very much need somewhere to stay. I can still work at the pub and save money for whatever comes next, provided I start being more careful with my appearance so I’m not discovered and reported to Dale.

“Yes,” I say. “You can take care of me.”

“Good girl.” He kisses me, his lips soft.

After he pulls away, I ask, “What about Xander?”

“What about him?”

“Well,” I say, “I don’t want to get in the middle of your bromance or anything.”

“Bromance?” Will smiles.

“Yeah. You guys are bros. Or…boyfriends?” They hadn’t seemed interested in each other when I was with them, but who knows what they’re like when I’m not around?

“We aren’t boyfriends,” he says, “or lovers. We like sharing and dominating women. We’re tied together by our bonds, as well.”

He leads me to the bedroom where he finds a t-shirt for me to wear, and a pair of pants and a shirt for himself. “Sorry, love. I don’t have any pants that will fit you. Although I’m not all that sorry, to be quite honest.”

“It’s okay.” I like the long-sleeved shirt he gave me. It’s soft and it smells foresty, like him. And I like the way he looks at my bare legs.

“What do you mean by your bonds?” I ask.

“It has to do with vampires. I can tell you more later. First, you eat.”

We start to leave the bedroom. I squeak in surprise, though, because Xander is waiting right there in Will’s office.

“I need a word,” Xander says.

“Just one moment, love,” Will says to me, before following Xander into the hallway.

A minute ticks past on Will’s wall clock. Then another. I take the time to appreciate this office, which looks like a throwback to the early twentieth century with its sturdy furniture and posh grandpa vibes. I want to snicker at that thought. What would Will think if I said his office hadposh grandpa vibes?

Their voices are getting louder, and I try to ignore them. But then Will almost shouts, “I would rather die than hurt her!”

I knew they were talking about me. Now I don’t even try to ignore what they’re saying.
