“That’s so fucking sexy.” I caressed his firm skin. “I can’t wait to see if it’s a girl or a boy. I hope the baby has your eyes.” He looked up and I kissed him. “You’re so beautiful.”

His cheeks were red. “God, you’re making me blush. Stop.”

I chuckled. “Just a few more weeks and we’ll be in the mountains.”

 “Yeah.”

“I’m glad, because it worries me you haven’t seen a doctor.”

 “Couldn’t be helped.”

 “I know.”

“I feel pretty good. My morning sickness is less severe. I still have a lot of headaches, but I’m sure that’s just hormones.”

I grinned. “If you can’t fit in your pants, does that mean you’ll have to walk around without them?”

He rolled his eyes. “You wish.”

 “Damn straight.”

He fingered the buttons on my shirt. “So then we’re a real couple?” He didn’t look up.

“Yes.” My voice was firm. “You’re my omega, just like I said all along.”

He nodded. “I love the sound of that.”

“Are you prepared for people to know about us?” I held my breath, wondering what his response would be and if he’d even thought about that part of the equation.

He raised his earnest gaze to mine. “I am. If they don’t understand, I don’t really care. I finally feel loved. I finally have someone who knows exactly who I am and still wants me.”

“Yeah, I do.” I stroked his cheek. “I love you even when you’re being an ornery son of a bitch.”

“And I love you even when you’re being a bossy son of a bitch.”

It was impossible not to smile. I was so happy I couldn’t hold my joy back. “Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.”

 Chapter Nineteen

 Blade

The sharp scent of spruce pines and the cool temperature was a nice change from the city. As we neared the compound, I expected to see walls and barbed wire. I suppose it was the word “compound” and the secrecy that surrounded the place that had me picturing it as a prison of sorts.

But when we drove through the entrance, the iron gates were wide open, and there was no sign of guards or security of any kind. We pulled up in front of a large gray building that had a sign that read Medical Complex on the front.

We got out of the car and Wyatt walked up the steps ahead of me. Before he could knock, the door opened and a young girl stepped out. She was slender and only reached Wyatt’s chin. She smiled and waved at me.

“Welcome. I’m Trina.” Her voice was warm.

 “Wyatt.” They shook hands.

I approached the two of them. “I’m Blade.”

She nodded and her gaze dropped to my slightly rounded stomach. “I know.”

 I laughed self-consciously. “I guess it’s obvious.”

“Just a little.” She grinned. “We have your cabin all ready. I went ahead and stocked it with fresh juices and bottled water. There’s a small grocery store just down the way. You’ll want to grab whatever else you need.” She winked at me. “No doubt omega daddy will want to stock up on snacks.”
