“I can hear how angry you are.”

“Of course I’m angry.” She scowled. “Did he seriously think he was just going to marry her and ride off into the sunsetwithoutme? Did he actually think I would just sit back and let that happen?”

“I’m sure you were livid. After you’d put up with so much. All those other women even.”

“Right?” She nodded.

“Who were some of the women he slept with in Rainy Dale?”

She frowned. “I didn’t always know their names.”

“Was one of them Angela Raiden?”

She laughed harshly. “Yes. I couldn’t imagine why he slept with that old hag.”

“But she wasn’t the only one?”

“No. There were many others.” Anger rippled through her eyes. “Then he decided Janelle was The One. He wouldn’t even touchme. After all we’d been through together, he was saving himself for Janelle.”

“That had to hurt.”

She sniffed and wiped roughly at her eyes. “I mean, where was the fucking loyalty?”

“What was the purpose of you following Janelle around. It was you, right?”

She sighed. “Yes, that was me. Before Archie lost his mind and thought he was in love with Janelle, the original idea was to gaslight her.”

“I see.”

“We were going to make her look crazy. Then, once she was off her rocker, her gallant, loving husband would step in to handle her finances.” She cackled. “I enjoyed making that rich bitch squirm too. She was terrified.”

I winced at how cruel she sounded. “You enjoyed scaring her?”

“Of course. She deserved it.”

“Why?”

“Because she was a spoiled brat. Everything was handed to her.” Kimora scowled. “I never had anything I didn’t have to fight for.”

“I see.” I leaned back in my chair. “But then she stole Archie from you.”

Her face fell. “Yes,” she whispered.

“If Archie had decided not to scam Janelle, why were you still following her around?”

“Because I hated her.”

“I see.”

“I wanted to drive her nuts. I… I was hoping she’d kill herself. She was so terrified, I really thought maybe she would do it.” She glanced up, a perverse excitement in her eyes. “I thought about killing her though. I thought about it all the time. How hard could it be, right? Just slip a knife between her ribs, and my problems would be over.”

I gritted my teeth. “Sounds like you truly did consider it.”

“I just told you I did.”

“Yes,” I murmured. “And you were at the wedding, right?”

She curled her lip. “Oh, I was there all right. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. I wasn’t about to let Archie forget me.”
