Jamie’s eyes widened, and he started coughing into his hand. Benji passed him a napkin and a bottle of water, rubbing his back. When his coughing fit had subsided, Jamie took a deep breath. “All of them?” he croaked.

Benji nodded.

“All five paintings? In a week?”

“All five paintings in a week, yes,” Benji confirmed.

“Holy hell, Benji! That’s great news!” Jamie leaned forward and hugged him tightly. “Wow! What else did they say?” he asked as he pulled back again.

“They want some more paintings. And they asked if I wanted to do a show,” he added in a quiet voice. “I can’t do it. The thought has me shaking on the inside.”

“Well, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. But if you do want to do one, I’ll be right there with you, every step of the way,” Jamie said.

Benji bit his lip. “I don’t know…”

“There’s no pressure. See what you think in a few days. You’ve got a lot of new things happening at the minute. Get your feet back on the ground before deciding what you want to do.”
