Gareth chuckled. “Come on. Let’s go make our vote before we’re out of luck.”

Ben gasped and opened his eyes. “No! We don’t want that one!” He raced into the living room, dropping to his original place on the floor like a ton of bricks. “I’m here.”

Lindsay shook her head. “I could tell. It sounded like you brought a herd of elephants with you.” Ben flushed. “Okay, here are your pieces of paper. These are the choices. Make your vote.”

“Gareth! Quick!”

“I’m here, sweetheart. No need to shout.”

“Sorry.” Ben bit his lip, and Gareth winked at him.

Ben carefully wrote his choice on the paper and folded it. He threw it in the basket when Lindsay held it out, and she called them out one at a time. “One forNightmare Before Christmas. One forMiracle on 34thStreet.Another forNightmare Before Christmas. One forLove Actually…” She went through all ten. “The winner isNightmare Before Christmas.”

Ben threw his arms in the air. “Yes!”

“Is that your favourite, Ben?” Felix asked.

“Yep. Favourite ever, ever, ever Christmas film.”

“Not just Christmas, I might add,” Gareth said.

Lindsay clapped her hands. “Okay, we have a choice now.”

“Another one?” Preston groaned. “It’s Christmas. We shouldn’t have to make choices.”

She ignored him and continued. “Do you want to play charades now or watch the film first? Hands up for the film.” Ben put his hand up. “Film it is. Gareth, can you do the honours?”

“Sure.” He reached for the remote and turned the TV on while everyone chatted. Ben wriggled across the floor until he was sitting between Gareth’s legs, resting against the armchair his Daddy was sitting in. As he looked around the room, he realised how much of a ragtag group they had, and he loved it. He stopped his gaze on Victor, who looked so dejected Ben knew he wouldn’t stay the whole day. Frowning, he recalled Gareth’s words from the kitchen earlier.I have a feeling he’s not being entirely truthful. With himself or the app. What wasn’t he being truthful about? He’d have to ask Gareth later because that might be the answer to finding someone perfect for Victor.

And as for Preston, who knew what to do to help him? From what they’d been able to get out of him, his boss was still engaged, still ignoring him at work, but had finally answered some messages. He didn’t know the content of the messages, but he hoped Preston wouldn’t fall for his charm again. It wasn’t a good relationship for him, and Ben would say as much if he thought it would help.

Felix and Jane seemed to be getting along better than they had been, and Ben hoped they would go out on a date. He might sneakily try to help with that or get Lindsay involved.

Lindsay, however, wanted to stay single. She had told him she was happy being alone and not having to answer to anyone else, and Ben could see that. As far as he was concerned, as long as she was happy, so was he.

As the film started, he rested his head on his knees and smiled. He couldn’t wait until tomorrow.

Chapter 28

Gareth

Gareth kept himself awake by sheer force of will until he knew Ben was fast asleep. He crept out of bed and down the hallway to the spare bedroom. He was taking a chance on doing this because if Ben’s answer tomorrow was no, Gareth would’ve wasted his time. Closing the door behind him, he began working as quietly as he could. Once he was done, he went downstairs and into the living room.

The gifts they had bought for each other sat beneath the tree, but although he didn’t want to spoil Ben, he’d bought more that he hadn’t put there until now. He didn’t think it was fair that Ben’s childhood memories were of such dreary content from what he’d told him. He wanted Ben’s first proper Christmas to be magical. Propping the extra gifts around the tree, he smiled, thinking of Ben’s expression when he saw them in the morning. Gareth couldn’t wait.

Tasks completed, he returned to bed and wrapped himself around Ben’s body.

A naughty boy nudged him awake by grinding his ass against his morning wood several hours later. Gareth pretended to ignore him for a short while and sank his teeth gently into Ben’s shoulder when the sensation became too much.

Ben giggled. “Please, Daddy. Let’s start the morning off right,” he whispered.

“Grab the lube,” Gareth croaked.

Ben reached for the bedside table and rummaged around without looking before holding up a tube. Gareth grabbed it and slicked his cock within seconds. Squeezing some more lube onto his fingers, he ordered Ben to pull his upper leg towards his chest, opening his ass. He pressed a finger against Ben’s entrance, rubbing a circle around it before pushing inside. Under normal circumstances, he would’ve taken more time to prepare him, but between them both being eager and Ben taking his fingers easily, he didn’t need to.

Gareth slotted himself into Ben’s hole and thrust forward, burying himself inside. He grasped Ben’s upper leg and lifted it over his own, opening his boy further. Then he started a punishing rhythm set to take them over the edge as quickly as he could.
