“How did you figure that out?”

“I don’t find the idea of playing with toys or colouring or wearing nappies and stuff like that. I like being taken care of, but not to that extent.” He sent Gareth a small smile. “I think you might be right about the Middle thing.”

“You have the temperament to go with it.”

Ben scoffed. “You mean surly, aggressive with huge mood swings?”

Gareth smiled. “Not at all. You’ve had so much of your life mapped out for you that you’ve not had the chance to let go and live. With me, you can do that. I’ll only stop you if you’re a danger to yourself or others, and if that happens, we’ll deal with it through punishments. It’s the quickest way for you to learn.”

They reached home, and Gareth unlocked the house and guided Ben to the kitchen. “First stop is a big glass of water and some paracetamol. I guarantee you’ll need it.”

“I feel fine.”

“At the minute.” Gareth stared at him until Ben nodded.

Gareth ran the cold tap for a second before filling a glass. Hands slid around his waist, searching, and Gareth’s breath caught when Ben cupped his cock.

“Ben…” Gareth warned. “All we’re doing tonight is sleeping. You’ve had too much to drink.”

“I’m fine. I promise.” Ben’s lips pressed against Gareth’s neck. “I want you.”

Gareth twisted in Ben’s arms and held the tablets and glass between them so Ben couldn’t reach his mouth.

“I told you, I’m fine.”

“And I’m telling you that you need to take these, and we’ll get some sleep.” He tried to keep his voice level because Ben’s hands were still groping him. Not that he minded, but he needed Ben on an even keel to have a proper discussion before they got all sexed up, and partially drunk was not the best choice.

“Maybe this will change your mind.”

Ben dropped to his knees and rested his face against Gareth’s groin. The sight gave Gareth a moment’s pause, but he lifted Ben’s face with the hand holding the tablets and said, “It’s not happening, Ben.”

He held out the tablets when Ben huffed and sat back on his heels. Ben snatched them and threw them in his mouth, chasing them with a gulp of water.

“Better?” Ben rolled his eyes. “Now, can I do what I planned to do?”

Gareth shook his head. “Nope. Let’s get to bed.”

Ben threw his hands in the air. “All I want to do is fuck! I don’t want to sleep.”

“You’ll thank me in the morning.”

“I’m not even drink. Um, drunk,” Ben said while Gareth led him up the stairs to the bedroom.

“I can tell.” Gareth was known for his sarcasm.

“At least we’re heading in the right direction.”

Ben began undressing before they’d even reached Gareth’s bedroom door, and Gareth picked up each item of clothing as Ben dropped it. It wasn’t something he would do in the future, but they hadn’t confirmed any rules; therefore, he couldn’t punish him for it. Yet.

Ben sprawled across the bed as soon as they reached it, and Gareth laid his clothes on a chair. Despite Ben’s insistence that they were going to fuck, he knew all it would take was for the comfortable bed to surround Ben, and he’d be out for the count. He quickly stripped the covers from beneath Ben and manoeuvred him into a better position.

Ben held out his arms. “Come here.”

Gareth leaned down and kissed him, avoiding his arms. “I just need the bathroom. I’ll be back in a minute.”

“Be quick. I need you.”

Gareth dropped another kiss on his lips and covered him before heading for the bathroom. Under normal circumstances, he would’ve persuaded Ben to shower before bed, but he wasn’t above using the laws of a comfortable bed to help Gareth get his own way. By the time he’d finished and walked back into the bedroom, Ben’s little snores were audible. Gareth grinned at the look of innocence on his slack face as he undressed. He put on some clean briefs and climbed in beside him, wrapping his arms around the man he hoped would be in his life for the foreseeable future.
