He watched Ben’s expression, the furrowing of his forehead, the closing of his eyes, the licking of his dry lips. The screen shook, and Ben bit his lip and opened his eyes, spearing Gareth with a lust-filled gaze. Gareth’s cock throbbed as need tore through him, but he tightened the grip on his control and narrowed his eyes on Ben.

“Ben,” he warned.

Ben’s mouth quirked up on one side, and Gareth knew he was going to disobey. Ben’s eyelids fluttered again, his lips parting on an exhale as his body erupted into climax. Gareth quickly reduced the volume on his phone as Ben’s cries of release drifted through the speaker.

It took everything in Gareth not to follow him over the edge because, despite disobeying, Ben was a vision when he was in the throes of orgasm. The almost painful expression on his face gave way to a peaceful relief as his arousal declined on the other side.

Gareth needed to remember to put his headphones in whenever he spoke to Ben in the future—he didn’t want anyone to hear what was solely for his pleasure.

“Tut, tut, tut, Ben. I hope you like the consequences of that when I get home later,” he said.

Ben blinked open his eyes, the pupils contracting slowly. His boy dropped his head to the bed, barely keeping the screen on himself, and Gareth shook his head.

“Go to bed. You will not come to work until I am home tomorrow because I need to give you your punishment. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Daddy,” Ben whispered.

“Get some sleep.”

“Night, Daddy.”

Gareth sighed and gave a small smile. “Goodnight, sweet boy.”

He ended the call and set the phone on the table, turning to stare out of the window with a chuckle. Ben needed a firm hand; otherwise, he could fly off the handle with the freedom he would experience now he was out from under his parents’ thumbs. If Gareth could’ve lashed out at those “people”—he refused to call them parents any longer—he would have, but it wouldn’t have been fair to Ben to see that happen. No matter how horrible they were to him, they were still his relatives.

“Penny for them.”

Gareth snapped his head around, having not heard anyone come into the room. Felix stood at the edge of his table, holding a mug and a bag.

“Lunchtime already?” Gareth asked with a grin, draining his mug of lukewarm tea, even though it tasted disgusting.

Felix glanced at his bag and snorted. “Might as well get the food in while I can. You never know what the night will bring.” He gestured to the seat across from Gareth.

“Go ahead.” He checked his watch. “I only have another five minutes, anyway.”

Felix settled into his seat, swallowing a healthy amount of his drink before placing it on the table. “I wanted to catch you.” He opened his bag and took out a filled sandwich bag. “You’ve been here a few weeks now. How are you finding it?”

Gareth frowned at him. “Haven’t we had this discussion already?”

Felix tilted his head from side to side as he removed his sandwich. “Yes and no.”

Gareth leaned back in his chair. “Is there something I should be aware of?”

Felix had taken a mouthful of food, and there was a moment of silence before he spoke. “I’m going to be upfront with you because I’m like that with everyone.” He paused. “Bar one person, anyway.” Gareth could probably guess who that was. “People have noticed you and Ben together. Now, from my perspective, I don’t give a damn as long as you do your job, but others don’t seem as happy with it.” He held up one hand. “This is nothing more than a ‘you should know’ conversation, Gareth. I’m not telling you how to live your life. I wanted you to be aware of it so you can fight it if it becomes necessary.”

Gareth bit his tongue on the initial words he wanted to say. It was no one’s business but their own, but they should be aware of the situation. As Felix had said, they would need to decide on a course of action should they need it. He’d speak to Ben about it in the morning—after his punishment.

“Thank you for letting me know. And just foryourrecord, Ben and I are in a relationship. It’s still in the early stages, which is why we’ve not announced it, but we’ll probably rectify that sooner rather than later now.”

Felix nodded while he chewed and swallowed. “Probably a good idea. Despite it being no one’s concern, it’s also everyone’s gossip.” He rolled his eyes, which looked hilarious on him. “But seriously, how are you finding the job? Or should we call it the balancing act?”

Gareth chuckled. “We’re still learning how to balance. We’ll get there, though. As for the job, I like it, as I’ve mentioned before. Being able to get on with the work and not have to worry about anything else is mind-numbingly perfect for me.”

Felix snorted. “Mind-numbing is one word for it.” He took a swig of drink. “Some of the night shift staff are going out in a couple of weeks. A comedy club, I’m told. I’m not going, but I said I’d let you know about it.”

Gareth winced. “Not my kind of thing, but thanks.”

Felix canted his head and studied him. “Be careful, Gareth. They can bite if they think you don’t like them.”
