My eyes rolled up in my head as that little burst of pain turned into something else entirely. All-encompassing heat, desire, want. I moaned as he sucked on my neck, my eyes fluttering open and landing on Bram, who was leaning against the wall opposite of us. His horns had popped out and his nostrils flared at the sight of us. When another moan slipped past my lips, Bram reached down and unabashedly adjusted his erection as his horns once again began twisting like they had when we sealed our mate bond.Fuck, he was an erotic nightmare come true.

Faris pulled back, licking the small wound before straightening and cupping my face. A drop of my blood was slowly rolling down the side of his chin and I wiped it with my finger.

“You taste like sex and candy, too, Firefly,” he told me, taking my bloodied finger and sucking it into his mouth.Fucking fuck.“Now, if you’ll excuse me? I’m having my very first boner and I’m going to go upstairs and see what happens when I rub it.” He grinned devilishly and then he was racing up the stairs with lightning-fast speed.

Guess he got a blood boost?

“Don’t forget to clean up any messes you make, Faris Bahri!” I shouted and was greeted with the sound of a door slamming upstairs. The last thing I needed was to be cleaning up after a grown ass man discovering how his cock worked for the first time.

Bram stepped closer, his thumb and finger gripping my chin to turn my head slightly as he examined the spot where Faris had bitten me.

“There are no marks,” he informed me, his voice cracking with lust as his fingertips brushed over the smooth skin.

“It only hurt for a moment,” I said and his eyes darted to mine, his mouth twitching with a smile.

“Ah, yes. I could tell, princess. You were dangerously close to making your ‘O’ face there,” he teased and I blushed.

Pushing him backward, I fixed my hair with a quick ruffle of my hands. “I do not make an ‘O’ face,” I grumbled.

Bram tossed his head back and laughed deeply. “You absolutely do. It’s one of my favorite faces you make, princess.”

With nothing to say to that, I spun on my heel and headed for the kitchen where the others' voices drifted down the hall.

Fischer was sitting at the table with a spread of food before him, eating everything in sight. Gran and Khol were arguing in the kitchen about who would be opening up the shop the following day. Frank and Arlo had already done so much to help lately, and they were scheduled to go look at a few wedding venues and meet with caterers tomorrow.

It seemed my dad wanted to work at the shop, which was surprising. The big bad Khol Larson working in a small town magic store. It was almost laughable picturing him in there, behind the counter.

“Gran, if he wants to work, let the man work,” I said as I dropped down into a chair beside Fischer.

“He messes up the potions and undercharges people! At this point, he’ll sink the shop into the red within a month’s time!” she shouted, exasperated, her small frame trembling with irritation. Khol waved her words away like annoying gnats.

“As I told you, Bette, any mistakes regarding revenue will be cleared by me, personally. You really think I would allow my daughter’s livelihood to go to shit? I run a multi-billion dollar outfit. I can handle The Pig. Now quit worrying.” Khol grabbed his glass of water and joined us at the table, leaving my grandmother huffing and puffing. She’d always been a proud and stubborn woman, someone who didn’t accept help easily. I supposed I’d learned that from her. But there was too much going on right now that we needed all the help we could get, so she needed to set her pride aside and accept it with graciousness.

“Fischer.” I nudged his arm. “Are you okay? Are you… upset with me?”

He sighed. “No, I’m not upset, sweetheart. I’m… overwhelmed by waking up and having an evil identical twin.”

Bram and Khol both chuckled at that.

“I understand,” I said firmly, directing the force of my voice toward the two demons who were not being very sensitive at the moment. “I know all of this is a lot. I can’t believe the things that have happened, but it’s not over yet. We need to get the others back. Maybe you can help me try something?”

“Of course, tell me everything,” Fish eagerly agreed.

At that moment, we heard a roar from upstairs followed by an “OH MY GODS SA-WEET BOUNCING BANANAS ON A BAHAMA MAMA!” and we all looked at each other before understanding dawned and Bram and I fucking lost it. A few moments later, Faris flashed into the room and sat down, his face flushed and the smuggest fucking grin I’d ever seen.

“Hope I didn’t miss anything important.” He looked at Fischer. “I can one hundred percent see now why you whacked off all the time when we were teens. Sweet merciful moons,” he breathed, leaning back in his chair like a sated king.

Gran and Khol now joined in laughing with us and I saw the tiniest little tug on the corner of Fish’s mouth as he fought a smile.

“Okay, let’s focus. Here’s my idea. Baggie has been with me since that night.” Gasps came from Fischer and Faris. “He’s the one who told me everything about what happened that night with Laurie. At first, I told him not to return to Kai just yet. What if it was some kind of trap that she’d set, waiting for him to return and pull some kind of black magic that could hurt Baggie? There was just too much of the unknown to risk that, in my opinion. Yesterday, however, Baggie was particularly depressed and I’ve been in pain as well. The mate bond isn’t a fan of this prolonged separation. So I told Baggie to go back to Kai, find out everything he could. Especially where they are so that we could rescue them.”

“That’s a great idea,” Khol interjected. “If we knew where they were, we could jump there and jump back with them before anyone realized something was amiss.”

Everyone was nodding in agreement, myself included.

“There’s a problem, though. Baggie was not able to breach Kai’s psyche. We aren’t sure if he’s blocking it himself without realizing, or if this is some kind of spell. But, Fischer, when you read my thoughts earlier, I wondered if maybe you could attempt to do the same with Kai? Or if your powers would be able to penetrate his mind so that Baggie could slip back in?” I asked, excitement fluttering at the prospect of soon having my men returned to me.

“It’s worth a try. It would depend on how far away they are, but it would seem since being revived with your magic, our own power has been amplified.” Fischer popped a chip into his mouth as he thought about what I’d just said.
