Kai swooped in behind her and pulled her down with him on the couch. Lucky kitty.

"Right. I'll go first then," Cam said, leaning back in the big ass recliner that looked like it was made for a man of his size. How does a man even become that fucking big? He's like a tower of muscley man meat made for destruction and fucking. I can get the attraction. Jesus, his thighs are like gods damn tree trunks. My eyes traveled up to his arms that were straining against the sleeves of his t-shirt.Those are also like tree trunks, younger trees, but still. Maybe he's part tree. I bet his cock...

"Faris, are you paying attention?" Cam asked, startling me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, yeah, of course," I laughed like he was being ridiculous.

"What did I say then?" he asked pointedly.

"That your grandfather was a tree?"

Bram snorted beside me while Cam just looked at me like he didn't know what to say.

"Fine. I'll focus. Continue," I urged, rolling my hand to indicate he had the floor again.

"As I was saying. It seems we've all leveled up with our powers in some way since Saige manifested into her half-demon form. Or maybe since she mated with Bram? I'm not sure which one was the catalyst, but something has definitely happened. I can now make lightning with my hands, in addition to the rain. I'm curious if my powers now extend to any type of natural phenomena," Cam pondered as he spoke.

"That's an interesting thought," Sloane added and the sound of his voice made me want to claw his tongue out. Domineering fucker. "What else do you think you might be able to do?"

"I was thinking about seeing if I can manipulate the air. Of course, air kind of goes hand in hand with storms, but I wonder if I can generate it like the lightning and rain. We'll have to check it out later when we can get outside. I don't want to risk destroying anything in the house until I know what I'm capable of."

Purring started up and I glanced at Kai who was nuzzling Saige's neck.Ooooh, I wonder what that feels like...

"When we were with Asrael, he talked a lot about finding hidden potential within yourself. He wanted to see what I was capable of, so I did some magic outside. Something happened. I'm not even sure why, but... I kind of created a fire dragon," Sloane told us and all of us snapped our heads to look at him in shock.

"A what?" Kai asked, lifting his brows in an almost comical way. He was so animated. I decided right then I liked that about him.

"He started talking about my dad. I guess he knows him? He didn't say much about that, but he pissed me off. My magic morphed into this huge ass dragon. It was the most bizarre shit I've ever seen."

"Were you able to control this dragon? Was it just a manifestation of your magic or was it like... real?" Saige asked, looking interested and I lowkey didn't like that—mostly because I highkey wanted to stab him.

"I was too shocked to try anything," Sloane admitted.

"Anyone else?" Cam asked.

"Well, I can read Saige's emotions now. And Bram's. Khol is still a mystery, so I think it's because we're all bonded together now. And Saige and I can talk in our heads. And clearly, I can talk to others telepathically, with some help. Though, maybe I needed the extra help just because you were so far away at the time," Fischer said, looking thoughtful at the prospect that he could communicate that way with us as well.

‘Faris, can you hear me?’

My eyes widened. "I heard that. Holy shit. It's just like old times!"

"Try with me," Kai said excitedly, and then a moment later, he gasped. "That is so damn cool. I'm jealous."

Fischer then went around the room, communicating with everyone with just his mind. We figured out that if someone pushed their thoughts at Fish, he got what he described as a nudge to pay attention. It seemed that he had to be focused in order to receive the thoughts.

"This could really come in handy, depending on what situations we get ourselves into in the future," Bram said ominously, his accent amping up his sexy factor. Dicey situations in the future weren't something I wanted to think about, but he was right. There was bound to be some blowback from Asrael, not to mention Bram's father. "Demons don't exactly talk in each other's heads, but we can call on one another mentally. It's like a summoning. You don't always have to respond, but the one calling you can be persistent. Then we just jump to where the other demon is," he explained.

"It's still weird to me that you're Johnny," Kai admitted, his fingers running through Saige's hair. Her eyes fluttered closed as she took a massive bite of her burrito, looking totally blissed out. She was so adorable.

"I'm the same man you knew then. My appearance is just different," Bram said.

"Okay, yeah, but it's still strange," Fischer agreed with Kai.

"I'm sorry that it was a secret for so long. I couldn't have anticipated all of this..." He gestured around the room.

"So you can change your appearance to anyone? How does that work?" Sloane asked, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees.

"For the most part, yes. There are certain spells and wards one can use to prevent another demon from being able to steal your identity. In Besmet, most demons protect themselves against this power," Bram explained and I observed how he ran his fingers through his short beard as he talked, seemingly unaware that he was even doing it. Was it soft? Coarse? How would it feel against my skin?I bet I'd like it.
