“I'll let you guys get settled back in. There's leftover lasagna in the fridge and approximately one hundred cookies in the kitchen. It appears Miranda is a stress baker,” Bette said with a tired laugh. “Someone will let me know when my granddaughter returns?” She lifted a brow, and Bram and I both spoke at the same time, rushing to assure her we would. “You're good men. Saige is very lucky to have you all.” A flash of pain flickered in her eyes for a split second, but was gone so quickly, I questioned if I'd seen it at all.
“We're the lucky ones. Even if I'm so pissed right now that I could spit tacks,” Bram grumbled.
I was pissed too, but right now, exhaustion was winning out. Bette bid us goodnight and left to head for her cottage.
“Alright, big boy, let's get you upstairs,” I said to Kai, hoisting him up. As I passed by Bram, he cleared his throat awkwardly. I paused, waiting to see what he needed.
“Was it weird?” he asked softly, his fingertips delving through Faris' thick hair.
“Was what weird?” I replied, though I had an idea of where this was going.
“Being with…” He cleared his throat again. “A man. Like that.”
I shifted Kai in my arms. “Honestly? No. It felt completely natural. And I wasn't with 'a man,' I was with Kai. My best friend, my woman's mate, someone I'd kill for and die for,” I explained. If Bram needed some kind of assurance that everything would be okay if he explored things sexually with Faris, I'd do my best to give it to him.
“I like him,” he told me, his voice deep and his face serious, like he couldn't believe he was saying those words out loud.
“I noticed,” I replied with a chuckle. “Alright, I'm going to get this dude to bed. He's getting heavy.”
“Oh shit, my bad. Yeah... good idea,” Bram stumbled over his words, though his eyes never left Faris' face. “But you don't think she'll care? Goldie?”
“Nah, man. I actually think she's going to love it. It drives her fuckin' wild when we mess around with each other.” I winked at him, and he blushed. Who knew the crown prince of all demons could be a shy guy about things like this?
“I'll put him in the guest room,” Bram told me, sliding Faris into his arms and standing.
“Yeah.” I walked to the stairs, Bram just on my heels. When we arrived at the top floor, I carried Kai to Saige's room, and Bram's footsteps headed toward the guest room.
I paused. “Hey, man.”
Bram's amber eyes looked in my direction.
“You probably should sleep in there. You know, so you can keep an eye on his injury, or in case he wakes up or needs anything,” I clarified.
He stared at me for a moment before nodding his head. “Good idea. I'll, uh... see you later, then.”
I chuckled. “Yeah, brother. See ya later.”

Pressureagainst my cock before I opened my eyes for the day was exactly the kind of wake up I could get used to.
“Zap me,” a husky voice said, and my eyes popped open. I looked down to see Kai's head against my abs, his cheek rubbing against me as he started purring.
“Kai?” I asked, slightly puzzled, but he continued his feline acts of affection. I chuckled, now fairly sure he wasn’t even aware of what he was doing. He was definitely at least eighty percent still asleep.
“Thunder Daddy,” he sighed, nuzzling right up to my cock.
“Fuck, man. Hey, wake up.”
A pause in his purr told me he was awake now. “Ugh, my body,” he groaned, and we both froze when he shifted slightly and his cheek landed right on my erection. “What's going on here?” he asked, an edge of teasing to his husky, sleepy voice.
“Morning wood. Which you were cuddling up against like it was a teddy bear,” I bantered back. His eyes widened and a blush started rising up his neck. “How are your burns this morning, K? Let me see.”
Kai sat cross-legged on the bed and I copied the pose, leaning forward to inspect his chest and the part of his shoulder that had been burned. The skin was pink, but it had healed amazingly for such a horrendous injury.
“It looks so much better,” I told him.
“He's dead, right?” Kai asked, the question followed by a low growl.
