“Regardless, it's a problem, and we'll have to work out a solution. I know he would never hurt you when in his right mind, but he went through something traumatic. He needs to see a therapist; if we were still active with Radical, he’d have already been forced into it. Sloane has been through enough in his life—he deserves his chance at happiness.” Cam pulled the SUV into the parking lot and found a spot to park near the door.

“Such a daddy,” I murmured and he turned toward me, pulling me closer.

“I'll show you daddy,” he threatened, his mouth descending on mine with heat. A moan slipped through me and he eagerly devoured it, his tongue plundering my mouth like he couldn't get enough. Once I was thoroughly breathless and damn near soaked through, he pulled back. “I'm gonna lick your cunt just like that later.”

My mouth fell open, and Cam casually grabbed his phone from the console and hopped out of the car.

Fucking sexy ass, Viking-haired, fancy-peened, devil-dicked bastard.

I went to get out of the car, and saw Guppy standing there with wide eyes. He opened the door and helped me out, obviously trying not to laugh.

“You heard that, huh?” I asked, giving myself a firm reminder to keep my thoughts locked down. Especially over certain things.

“Hell of an insult, sweetheart. Though I suspect he’d take that entire statement as a compliment. I especially liked the devil dick part.” Fischer chuckled as we approached the door of Magic Stixxx.

“Shut up,” I hissed, laughing under my breath.

Fischer’s hand slid to my lower back, and continued to descend until he palmed a handful of my ass. I startled, glancing up at him. It wasn’t a move I would’ve ever expected him to do back when we first met... but now so much had changed.

“I love when you wear jeans like this,” he said, heat in his gaze.

Moon maidens above, I don’t know what I’m going to do with these scoundrels.

“Can’t take you people anywhere, I swear,” I teased, and pressed a quick kiss to his pillowy lips.

“Are you two coming in or are we just going to hope we get full from the smell of the food?” Sloane hollered, and Guppy and I looked at each other sheepishly.

“Guess some things never change,” he mumbled, guiding me into the building.

“He gets hangry, just like I do. Let’s hurry before he dragons out on everyone. Rupert will have my ass if his pride and joy gets destroyed.”

Fischer's hand slipped into mine, and we followed the rest of the guys past the grand staircase to a set of fancy double doors, which led to a grandiose ballroom that had recently been converted into a steakhouse. The legendary “Ballroom” dance and strip club was still upstairs, safe and sound. This was just a new adventure Rupert was trying out, and apparently it had been all the talk in Emerald Lakes while we'd been busy fighting evil.

There were circular tables strategically placed throughout the room and large wooden booths flanking the walls. The restaurant was busy, and I smiled at the prospect of Rupert becoming even more successful. Everyone had dreams—sometimes you just needed to chase them and make them happen.

Bram pulled out a chair for me in the middle of the long table, and I smiled up at him as I sat down. The guys quickly took seats, with Bram sliding in on one side and Kai on my other. Faris, Sloane, Cam, and Fischer sat across from us. My heart fluttered as I looked at each of my handsome mates. They were already browsing their menus, discussing what they were in the mood to eat, and I suddenly realized that this was our first group date. It was the first time we were doing something that normal couples would.

In a normal life, it would be nothing to get dressed up and go out for dinner and dancing. To wake up early on a Saturday morning, grab some coffee and head to the farmer's market, or spend an afternoon getting lost in the never-ending trails that wound through Peridot Park and further into the hilly countryside.

I wanted those things. Craved them even, and I'd only had this very small snippet of what that might look like. My vision blurred with tears, and in complete unison, all of my men looked at me.

“What is it, Sprout?” Kai asked gently, his hand on my thigh.

Gods, they looked so uncomfortable. The thought of them stressing over me being teary-eyed made me wonder what it would be like once the girls were here. I snorted and laughed. And laughed some more.

“Oh gods, I'm sorry. Really,” I said, taking a deep breath, attempting to calm myself. “I'm fine. Just so very happy.” I tried, I really tried to keep it together, but somehow a choked sob worked its way out of my throat. Suddenly feeling overwhelmed, I hid my face.

“Aww, Goldie. It's okay.” Bram put his arm around my shoulders, and a few tears slipped down my cheeks.

“We'll get to do more things like this, sweetheart. I swear,” Guppy promised, and I nodded.

“Please don't cry, Red. I can't handle it,” Sloane whispered, his voice strained. I grabbed my napkin and pressed the soft cotton to my cheeks, taking care not to ruin what was left of my makeup.

“Hello and welcome to Slab.” Kai and Faris stifled laughter at the ridiculous name. “My name is Cade and I'll be your server tonight. Our specials ar—”

“Absolutely not,” Bram cut our server off.

“E–excuse me, sir?”
