“Oh, right. Well, I don’t give a fuck about your little”—I held up two fingers to make horns—”problem. I don’t care what you are. We had fun, and now I’m ready to leave. So, thanks for the dick.” I walked past Talon in the direction of the bathroom, only to be caught off guard a second later when the fucking bookshelf to my right moved, nearly clipping my arm.

Misha was standing there, looking sexy as sin with his hair pulled up in a bun and a set of blades clenched in his massive fist.

“I’ll be back. I’m going next door to grab some clothes for her,” Ash called, but I was stuck in the dark gaze of a hell beast. Misha took a step out of whatever cavern he’d been hiding out in, and I stepped back slowly. Something about the look in his eye was screaming at me to be cautious.

“Hi, Misha,” I mumbled, taking another step back.

He grunted and kept coming for me. I glanced over at Talon, who was now leaning against the wall, observing the situation with amusement, if the way his mouth was hitched up was any indication.

“D–did you sleep?”

Another grunt. I was about to run into the wall.

Was he pissed at me? His eyes were narrowed, and judging by the way his chest was heaving, it damn well seemed like it. “Thank you for letting me use your bed,” I stammered, and a growl left his mouth the second I said the word “bed.”

His hands were on me in a flash, and I was hoisted up. My legs wrapped around his thick body instinctively, causing his T-shirt to ride up, leaving my lower body completely exposed. I didn’t mind one bit when his hands gripped my ass as he walked us to the couch where we’d eaten last night. That was when I noticed a tray of breakfast foods sitting there, and my stomach immediately rumbled.

Misha threw a dirty look at Talon that I didn’t understand, and from the confusion on Talon’s face, neither did he. “The fuck was that look for?”

Misha didn’t respond. He simply arranged me in his lap and leaned over, pulling the table closer. He stabbed a strawberry with a fork, then brought it to my mouth. My eyes flicked to his. He wasn’t fucking around. I opened my mouth and accepted the bite, surprised by how sweet the fruit was. I reached for the fork, able to feed myself, but earned a warning growl for my effort.

“Just let the man feed you, Bun-Bun. It’s making him happy. He already looks at least seven percent less pissed than he did when he came out here.”

I settled back against Misha’s chest and did what Talon suggested. It was awkward as hell, but I was willing to allow it if it led to them trusting me faster. Plus, I got a lot of food. I ate fruit, eggs, bacon, and toast. Everything that was offered, I ate. I didn’t want to see Misha pissed off, and there were several times I could’ve sworn that he was smelling my hair and throat.

“Oh, for the love offuck...”

“Good morning, Monocle. You’re looking dapper today,” I greeted Rhodes, who looked like I’d just pissed on his loafers. Ashland chose that moment to come back, a stack of clothes in hand.

“You’re hand-feeding her? Have you lost your gods damned mind, Misha?” Rhodes boomed, his face turning as red as a tomato.

Tension in the room rose fast, and the calmness that had descended while I was eating now evaporated to nothing. Thanks, Monocle.

“I’ll just… get dressed then,” I said softly, sliding off Misha’s lap and tugging my shirt down. “Thank you for breakfast.” I held my arms out to Ashland, and he handed over the clothes. Bundle in hand, I made a beeline for the bathroom and closed the door just as everything boiled over.

“You’re all fucking fools!” Rhodes shouted. “We know nothing about this woman, yet here you are, acting like she’s the stars’ gift to our fucking crew!”

I wasn’t sure who was growling now, but it was more than one of them. My heart was pounding. Rhodes might prove to be a problem if this was how he was going to act.

“You want to keep the woman, and yet when I come out of my shop, she is clearly starving! I will not tolerate it!” Misha bellowed, and my mouth fell open. I mean, I was not starving. Not by a long shot… but also, he was yelling. A lot.

Rhodes laughed without humor. “Ah, Misha. Don’t think I didn’t notice she was also wearing your shirt and smells of your bed. Are you claiming this pet as yours then?”

“I think the fuck not,” Ashland snarled at the same time as Talon shouted, “No!”

“He’s scent marking her more than a dog pissing on a fucking fire hydrant!”

I really needed to find out what it meant to be sent marked by a demon.

“You’re jealous.” Talon’s voice was steady.

“And you’re all delusional. Talon, I’ll be waiting in the garage—we have a meeting. Put some fucking clothes on.” A door slammed a moment later, and there was nothing but silence.

Shit.

The hair on my shoulder moved, like a soft breeze had decided to move through the inside of the bathroom. My eyes flicked to the windows, which were closed. Twisting around, I came face to face with the ghost I’d met last night before entering the club. How did I not feel him there?Typically, I would sense a ghost from across the room. My scalp would tingle and goosebumps would erupt once they got within twenty feet of me.

I was off my game, and I wasnever off my game.
