Silvers body pins me to the table. His arm reaches above me.

“Déjà vu.” I feel his erection press against my back.

“Only we didn’t get to finish what we started.” His hoarse whisper is in my hair.

Damn, the cowboy does something to my insides.

 “We could finish it now.”

I stroke his rough jawline. “One more day.”

“I don’t know if I can wait,” he growls.

 He can.

 I can.

We do, and we spend an amazing last day together.

“You’re staring again,” he mumbles without taking his eyes off the movie. The flickering light of the screen cast a warm glow across his face.

“No, I’m not.” I don’t take my eyes off him.

Scruffy facial hair lines his strong jawline and chiseled features.

“Yes, you are.” He doesn’t look at me.

We’re snuggled tougher on the couch, wrapped in blankets, but fully clothed with no intention of stripping naked and banging in front of the fireplace: banglefuck destination number four.

“I can’t decide what I like more.” I run my finger over his jawline. “Your laugh, your smile, or those cute little dimples that appear when you try not to smile.”

He tries not to smile, and his dimples appear.

“There they are.” I touch one of the dimples, and he catches my hand.

“You’re makin’ our last night of abstinence very difficult.” He flips my hand over and kissed my palm. “Look how well I’m behavin’. I didn’t even suck on your finger, and I really want to suck on your finger.”

This week itself has been too short. I can’t believe Sammy’s coming home tomorrow. I miss him, and, at the same time, I’m terrified of him walking through the door. Whether Silver decides he’s sticking around or not, Sammy and me lying to him was a mistake. Silver adored his brother, and we went and put this massive wedge between them.

I push away my thoughts before they consume me. I spend enough time lying awake every night, running all the possible scenarios through my head. I’m not sure Silver will forgive me when he finds out I’ve lied. After his confession of wanting the baby, wanting me, and then I almost took it all away, he’ll never look at me again the way he has this week. Like I’m his favorite thing in the world. Because after Sammy and I come clean, neither of us will be in his hood graces.

I push the thoughts deep down to enjoy my last night with Silver.

He slants his head to look at me. “You know what would make this movie even better?”

 “What’s that?”

“If we watched it like this.” He presses his lips to mine.

I respond eagerly. Every kiss is precious. Soon we were lost in a deep, passionate kiss. Our bodies pressed together on the couch. When we pull apart, I’m breathless and dizzy with desire. I’ve fallen for him in a way I never thought possible.

“That was...unexpected.” I lick my lips.

He grins and takes my hand. “I know, but sometimes unexpected things are the best things.” He slides his arm back around me and pulls me close.

“I think we’re getting a little distracted here.”

“Can you blame me? You’re irresistible.”
