“Tell me who you belong to.”

“You, always you. You’re my stalker, my perfect killer.” I can’t help the compliments, and I feel him arch against me, obviously appreciating them as well.

“Come on my cock, then, Scaredy Cat,” he growls. “With my name on your lips so you remember I’m the only one who can make you feel like this.” His teeth sink into the already tender flesh of my neck, and that’s enough for me.

My breath catches like my throat is sealed shut around a gasp as I meet his hips, and my whole body clenches under and around him. I want to pull him closer, but I settle for dragging his face up to mine and meeting his kiss with desperate movements. Our tongues and teeth clash while he follows me over the edge, and his breaths come just as sharp and heavy as mine while I ride out my orgasm with him pressed against me so close I can feel his heartbeat along with my own.

After I’m pretty sure I’ve died and come back, I return to myself with Shiloh cleaning me up with one of our post-shower towels. He smiles down at me with that charming, sweet grin, before tossing the towel into my bathroom and opening the door to admit Arugula.

“He’s sort of a cockblocker,” Shiloh admits before burying himself under the blankets with me and dragging me back against him. “It’s ridiculous. I’m surprised he wasn’t yowling at the door the whole time.”

Before replying, I roll over in his arms to press my lips to his, chasing that sharp, spicy taste of him I’ve come to crave. “I’m sorry,” I murmur against his mouth, his hand low on my back. “I didn’t think they’d do that. I just thought…”

“I know.” He licks my lower lip. “You’re too nice for your own good. You don’t see the bad in people like you should, either.” He raises his brows as if making a point about himself. “But I wouldn’t change you. Though Iwillprotect you.” He kisses me chastely. “Even from yourself.”

“So you aren’t leaving, taking Arugula, blocking my number, and telling everyone what an awful person I am?”

At the sound of his name, Arugula walks up my legs before mashing his face against Shiloh’s cheek, making him frown and close his eyes against the overwhelming display of affection.

“No. First of all, this thing would be devastated.” Arugula turns to give me my dose of affection as well, though I playfullyrub my forehead against his before he hops over Shiloh to curl up behind his head, on the pillow the cat has christened as his. “AndI’dactually be pretty upset. I’m not mad at you, Persy.” He pulls me closer and buries his face in my hair.

“I just refuse to let anyone hurt you. Even if that means I kidnap you and subject you to my dad’s mixtape.” He frowns at that again. “Seriously. That’s torture.” When I laugh, he kisses me, stealing my breath until I’m panting against him.

“Thank you.” I say finally, feeling my drowsiness pull me under. “I could thank you every day, and it wouldn’t be enough. Not just for tonight, for…” God, I feel sappy. “Well, thank you.”

“Yeah.” His smile widens, becoming fond, and he presses forward until our foreheads touch. “Thank you as well, Scaredy Cat.”

 Epilogue

“Hey, I’m so sorry, guys.”I look up from my PC, pausingSilent Hill. “Give me just a minute?”

Shiloh calls my name again from the living room, interrupting my stream in a way that’s uncharacteristic of him. Normally he’d just join in, as long as he’s not bloody or in some other way inappropriately attired for my followers.

 Like beingnaked.

I get to my feet, putting the stream on pause as I do, and listen to Shiloh talk to Arugula in the other room. “Hey, is everything okay?” I’m half expecting to walk in to see him covered in blood and needing my help to get it off the floor, though he knows I’ll absolutely expect him to go get us food from Waffle Wagon if that’s the case.

But instead, I see him kneeling down on the floor, his back to me, and over his shoulder I can see Arugula’s bottlebrush tail flicking back and forth.

“Shiloh?” I don’t see any blood, which is a good sign, but my guard is up, anyway.

Shiloh looks back at me over his shoulder, his grin full and charming. His bright green eyes gleam with mischief, and he huddles over whatever he has that has Arugula so interested.“Close your eyes,” he requests, lifting his brows when I just stare at him. “Pretty please.”

That has a bemused grin curling over my lips, and I nod. “Yeah, okay?” Without a clue about what could be going on, I close my eyes, though light from the windows still shines against the blackness of my eyelids. “Do I need to do anything else?”

“Nope.” I hear him move, taking a few steps to eat up the distance between him and me. “Nothing at all.” When I can feel him in front of me, my anticipation grows, and I half expect him to kiss me, this whole thing just a sweet gesture.

But the tongue that I feel on my nosecertainlyisn’t his. And the little purr has my eyes flicking open to see a tiny tabby kitten with bright blue eyes cradled carefully in Shiloh’s hand as it reaches out to touch my face with itty-bitty paws.

“Oh, my God!” I gasp, my hands coming up instinctively. He deposits the kitten in my arms, where it curls up against me, my heart pounding with delight. “A kitten? Where did you get him? Her? It?”

“Her,” Shiloh tells me. “I found her a few hours ago on my way back from Chicago. I didn’t want to tell you until I had him seen by a vet. Which I did. She’s all good and now up to date on vaccines.” He hesitates, his smile turning impish. “They asked me what her name was, at least for the file.”

“Oh?” When I look at him, bemusement enters my expression. “What did you…” I trail off, and my eyes narrow. “You did not.”

“Meet your new child,RutabagaWilkes,” Shiloh all but cackles, his fingers tickling the kitten’s ears. “Sorry for interrupting your stream, by the way. I just knew you’d want to meet Ruty.”

Rutymakes me cackle. But I drag Shiloh close and kiss him until the kitten mewls her protest and climbs up to sit on my shoulder, balancing on tiny paws. Shiloh scoops her up, butbefore he can walk away, I drag him straight to the bedroom with me with Arugula in tow.
