His hands clamped down hard on my thighs, trying to hold me still. But more concerning—his eyes flared red again. “Fuck. Are you trying to kill me? Talk to me, baby. Distract me with your questions.”

My heartbeat skipped and jumped, a frantic, uneven rhythm of sheer panic. I didn’t want him to shift into the Godzilla thing. Especially now. Just the thought of feeling scales against me rather than his rock-hard body made my blood pressure rachet even higher. “How long will you be stuck?”

“It varies.” His breathing was still ragged. “First time, could be quite a while.”

“Why? Why is this happening?”

He ground his jaws together, muscles flinching across his cheeks. “I told you I was in heat. The knot ensures more of my semen stays inside you, increasing the chance of conception. Don’t you have animals that knot here on Earth?”

“Wolves,” I said faintly. “Dogs. I’m not sure about any others. You’reknotted? Inside me?”

Now that I wasn’t trying to pull away, his fierce grip gentled. He stroked his hands up and down my thighs. Up over my flanks. My back. The slow, steady strokes soothed some of the tension straining in me. I tried to relax against his chest, but he was so hard and big that it was like trying to get comfy on a concrete floor.

“It’s science. Biology. The better you feel, the more you’ll want to fuck me, yeah? So my pheromones are meant to attract your interest. The temporin leaking from my temples is a chemical aphrodisiac meant to stimulate the female’s reproductive hormones. My tongue and cock adjust to your anatomy to make the joining as pleasurable as possible for you. Again, if you’re having a good time, you’ll want me again, ensuring a successful breeding.”

My mind whirled and buzzed with questions. I propped my elbow on his chest, bracing my chin on my hand so I could see his face. “What are you? Exactly?”

“I’m a soldier, engineered to be nearly indestructible with a mix of Sirian and Draconian DNA.”

“Draconian—like a dragon? Is that why the creature looked like a giant lizard?”

He huffed out a laugh. “I suppose so, though I’m not a dragon, at least not a dragon that you would recognize. Sirius and Draco are star systems. A group of scientists gathered DNA from some of the most lethal beings known in the universe to create Dynosauros, an elite squadron of soldiers with multiple physical forms.”

“D…dino…” My brain stuttered a moment. “Dinosauros. Of course! That makes sense. The creature does look like a cross between a T-Rex and a raptor.”

“The creature is me,” he drawled out in a low, husky voice. “I’m the creature. Dynos. When I shift, I’m still me. I’m in full control of my intellect. Well, mostly. The predator can still be triggered by a chase, but I’m able to reason and think. I understand speech, but I’m also able to read subtle indicators that you’re not even aware of. Heart rate, for example. Body temperature. Plus all my natural senses are increased with cybernetic enhancements.”

“I thought I saw patterns flashing in your eyes before.”

He nodded. “I carry all kinds of implants, including some in my eyes.” He blinked and red circles flashed across his pupils briefly. “I can see through most carbon-based materials and detect heat signatures.”

This was getting weirder by the minute, but the more he told me, the more intrigued I became. There was a reason that I’d loved shows likeTerminatorandBattlestar Galactica. “But how did our dinosaurs get pulled into some galactic laboratory?”

“Where do you think your dinosaurs came from in the first place?”

“But… They all died out. They’re extinct. Did they do some kind ofJurassic Parkextraction?”

His mouth quirked. “Did they die? Or did they merely go home?”

My mouth hung open a moment before I could get my brain to work again. “But… But that was like sixty-fivemillionyears ago.”

He shrugged. “Time is meaningless once you master interstellar travel. Moving through time is the same as moving across galaxies. It’s just a different kind of jump.”

I couldn’t help but huff out a half-strangled laugh. “So you’re a time-traveling alien super-soldier who can shift into a dinosaur.”

“Pretty much.”

More questions popped into my head quicker than I could even formulate them into words. My brain felt like it was on fire. I’d fallen through a rabbit hole—into a science-fiction comic book where everything was possible. Even huge dino-monsters who turned into muscled, gentle giants with the stamina of a robot. “Are you a cyborg?”

He rocked his hips up beneath me, making my eyes roll back into my head. My head fell back, and I shuddered as all my nerve endings screamed with sensation. “Does that feel like a machine to you?”

KROKTL

I never imaginedthat I’d be sharing top-secret details of my squad’s existence while my dick was locked inside the tightest, sweetest pussy in the universe. She made a soft, fragile sound that made me want to roll her beneath me and see how much deeper I could get. If we could stay locked together for hours. Days. Forever. That’d be fine by me.

“Impossible,” she whispered.

I wondered for a moment if I’d spoken my thoughts out loud. “What?”
