Mypredator.

Crying before I even opened my eyes, I rubbed my face against his palm, soaking him in. His heat. His strength. But it wasn’t enough.

Blindly, I turned into his body, nuzzling his chest. His throat. Rubbing myself on him. Trying to get his scent back. The fucking river must have washed it all away.

I needed to get the burning scent of ozone out of my nose.

“Baby,” he murmured against my hair, his hands smoothing up and down my back. “You’re safe. I’m here.”

“Kroktl.” Sobbing, hiccupping, I couldn’t get enough of him. “I need you.”

“What do you need, baby?”

I groaned in agony. Not real pain this time but need. Ineededhim. I needed that physical connection with him. My hands trembled like I was an addict in desperate need of a hit.Maybe I am addicted to him.

I may have nearly drowned in a crazy rollercoaster ride down an underground river, but I had to get him inside me. Shifting restlessly against him, I didn’t even feel pain in my knee or shoulder. Not now. I just wanted him.

He must have sensed my need. Or maybe he simply needed me as badly. Instinct took over. His dick slid into me, pulling our bodies together, and I shuddered with relief. I lay on his chest, breathing with him. Our hearts beating in tandem. I didn’t need to come. I just needed to feel him deep. A part of me. Marking me as his.

Which made a sob lodge in my throat. “I’m sorry.”

“Never be sorry, baby. Whatever you need—”

I made a rough, ragged cry, shame tightening my throat. “Axxol.”

“I know, baby. Don’t you worry about him.”

I finally managed to get my eyes open and saw that Rizan was only inches away. Now that I was more aware, I could feel his arm over my back, his heat down my side. Which meant the heat on my other side was probably Lohr or Snryx.

“You’re a sight for sore eyes,” Rizan said, giving me a wicked grin. It’d never cease to startle me to hear such human idioms coming from an alien. It made me crack a smile, even though I was still exhausted.

“You’re only alive thanks to him,” Kroktl said gruffly. “All of them, honestly. I couldn’t swim the river, but Riz pulled you out. Lohr helped us figure out that there were caves underneath the ground where Axxol must have been hiding you. And of course, our stellar medic worked his magic and brought you back from the brink of death.”

Kroktl shifted ever so slightly, sending sensation ricocheting through my core. My voice quivered, my brain disconnected from my tongue. “Infection.”

“Among other things,” Snryx said lightly at my back. “Would you like to hear the list of damage?”

“Not really.” I shuddered, which only made me remember what had happened in the cave.I have to tell Kroktl. Everything.“He licked it.”

Kroktl didn’t say anything. He didn’t tense or react in any way. Which only made me more worried. I tipped my face up, trying to see his eyes. Wishing for the millionth time that I could hear his thoughts like they could. “Even the pus. It was disgusting.” I swallowed hard. Remembering.

“Our saliva heals.” Supporting my head, Kroktl leaned me back enough that he could dip his mouth to kiss my forehead. “He caused the wound and the fucking infection, so the least he could do was try to help you.”

“But it… I felt…”

Dark red rings pulsed lazily through his eyes. “Did it feel like this, baby?”

He didn’t thrust or move a muscle externally, but his dick flexed inside me. Swelling. Filling me up tighter and tighter. My eyelids fluttered, my pulse slamming in my temples. I could feel the surge of hot cum pushing up from his base, spilling over to splash inside me. The wave of his musky scent in my nose. My greedy body gobbled it up, soaking him in, squeezing rhythmically until he grunted and released again. More. Too much for me to hold.

Kroktl rattled deep in his chest. “That’s what I thought.”

His tone deepened, a fierce bass that made my eyes fly open. He glared over my head at something—someone—behind me. If he had any hair at all, he would have been bristling like a rabid junk-yard dog.

Axxol. He must have followed me.

Terror shrilled down my spine. I clutched Kroktl’s shoulder with my good arm, clinging to him. I didn’t want him to fight at all—and certainly not his huge former leader. If anything happened to him…

“That’s very interesting,” Snryx said.
