They lay side by side in bed. Still clammy and breathless.
“I missed you,” Tyler said.
Danny reached over and took his hand. “I missed you too. I’m sorry.”
“I think we can stop saying that now. We’ve overused it a tad.”
“Sorry,” Danny said.
“Funny.”
Tyler turned on to his side. He ran his fingertip across Danny’s muscular chest.
“You know what? I’m going to sell that ridiculous car. It’s time to get serious about buying somewhere.”
Danny frowned. “You love that car.”
“I don’t really,” Tyler said. “I only got it because Deborah has the older version.”
“Unbelievable.”
“I’ve seen the error of my ways. You can’t convict me on out-of-date evidence.”
Danny grabbed his hand and kissed it. “No judgement here. Although I don’t want to go visiting family for some time. Is that okay?”
“More than okay.”
He rolled over in bed and grabbed his phone.
“What are you doing?”
“Having a look at property. I’ve no idea what the budget will be. It can’t hurt to check out the market.”
Danny plumped his pillow and sat up.
“Best of luck with all that. Getting the loan was bad enough.”
“Yeah but think about us entertaining at home.”
Danny reddened. “Tyler. I will be living with my parents for the next hundred years.”
Tyler kissed his shoulder. “It won’t be that bad. I have a good feeling about this business. God forbid I have any ideas. I will keep them strictly to myself. At all times.”
Danny shoved him. “You can have suggestions. How does that sound?”
“Like semantics but I’ll take it. What do you think? Apartment or house?”
“I’m serious. I can’t think about getting into any more debt.”
Tyler put his phone down. “I know that. I’m thinking that if, in the future, you wanted to, perhaps, buy half of it. Well, it makes sense to get somewhere you like now then we wouldn’t have to move.”
Boom. The lopsided smile came from nowhere.
Danny scooted over the bed and kissed him. A real movie star kiss that Tyler felt in his bones.
“What was that for?”
“Because you’re my practical boyfriend and I love you.”
