Sunday afternoon came around and they were still lazing on Tyler’s new bed. They had spent the whole weekend there. They’d only got dressed to go for breakfast. The rest of the time ordering food in.

“I never want this to end,” Danny said, stroking Tyler’s leg.

“Me neither,” Tyler murmured.

They’d binged shows on Tyler’s iPad as well as finding other ways to occupy themselves. Tyler was insatiable and that suited Danny just fine.

He had been getting regular updates from Denise. Although Bruce was doing better, they were keeping him in a little while longer. To be on the safe side.

“We should get some fresh air,” Danny ventured.

“Don’t break the spell.”

Danny squeezed Tyler’s leg. “The other two should give you discount on your rent. You’re only using one room in this flat.”

Tyler lifted his head. “You reckon I’d get away with it?”

“Not with Scott, I wouldn’t think.”

“Fair point. Okay, maybe we could have a walk. There’s a park not too far away,” Tyler said. “In fact, let’s get showered. Then we can get all dirty again when we get home.”

Danny kissed him. “That sounds like a plan. You go first and I’ll give Bruce a quick call. I bet he’s going stir-crazy in that hospital.”

Tyler got out of the bed. Seeing him wandering around the bedroom naked almost made Danny abort their plans and drag him onto the bed.

Fuck, he’s gorgeous.

Danny had never felt like this about anyone before. He enjoyed spending time with Tyler and their chats. Yet, there was something more. Almost like an addiction. He needed to feel that body close to him as much as possible.

“I’ll leave the shower running,” Tyler said. “And no streaking down the hallway this time, thank you. Scott and Eddie are in residence.”

“I promise I’ll use the towel.”

“You’d better. Scott will be far too jealous of me if he sees you with nothing on.”

Tyler kissed him and went out of the room. Danny heard muffled noises. He must have bumped into either Scott or Eddie.

Danny rolled over and grabbed his phone from the floor. He dialled Bruce.

“Hello, there,” came a forced cheery reply.

“How are you feeling?”

“You know me. Tough as old boots.”

That was a lie. Bruce’s frailty was evident in his voice.

“How are you really feeling?”

Bruce sighed. “Like shit. It’s really floored me. I bloody hate it in here too. The guy opposite snores like a bleeding chainsaw. Denise said she’s going to break me out next week if they insist on keeping me in much longer.”

Danny lay on the pillow. “You should stay as long as they want you to. They aren’t messing around, Bruce. You’ve had a heart attack.”

“I know. I’m only joking really. You don’t know what it’s likehaving Denise pecking my head whenever it’s visiting time and then dealing with these fools the rest of it.”

Danny could well imagine. “I’ll come and see you one night after work. How’s that?”

“I’d like that. Listen, son, there’s something I need to speak to you about. I planned on leaving it until I got out. Maybe I should say it now and get it over with.”
