No.

Panic rises in my body.

He has to be lying.

“Do you know how sweet it was knowing I took their life as I was stealing your innocence?” His voice growls in my ear.

I try to swallow the bile that is rising in my throat.

I’m going to be sick.

He’s going to kill me here and no one will know that he’s alive.

No one will know what he did to them.

“You’re a coward,” I sneer at him.

He turns to me. “What the fuck did you just call me?”

I can see the anger in his face but I don’t care anymore. He’s going to kill me anyway. “You couldn’t earn your place, so you stole one. You didn’t even fight your own battle today, you let other men do it while you hid. You’re. A. Coward.”

He rears back and slaps me across the face. “Call me what you want, you little bitch, but I outsmarted all of the assholes you thought could protect you. None of them were smart enough to even consider the fact that maybe all of this convenient shit might be a setup.”

He pulls a chair in front of me. “Did you like my note and visits? Those idiots couldn’t even catch me when I was right under their noses. I’ve been in town for two months. I have to say, though, I think pressing the detonator and watching this place blow into a million pieces was my favorite part of this whole trip. Everyone was running around like helpless fools. Funniest shit I’ve seen in a while.” He laughs shaking his head as he stands up.

I look toward the door, but he steps in front of me. “Waiting for your little pyro? Don’t think he’ll be making it. You’re all mine, just like it always should have been. Do you know why I wanted you so bad that night? Because I had every intention of claiming you once you were legal in a few months, then fucking Torch started telling people that you’d be his. That he was waiting for you. I decided right then that there was no way I would let him have you before I did.”

His hand skims down my front, as it passes over my nipple a tear falls down my cheek.

“I remember these tears that night too.” He catches it before it falls from my face bringing his finger to his mouth and licking my sadness off with a smile. “They still taste just as sweet.”

“I always promised you that if you opened your mouth that I would come back for you and make you pay. Now it’s time for me to keep that promise.”

I close my eyes and wait for the darkness to take me.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Torch

I pull the truck into the lot quietly, not wanting to make a lot of noise. Something told me that the asshole would bring her here; he wanted to bring her to the place that he took everything from her the first night.

Predictable piece of shit.

My hand finds my gun as I pull it out of my waistband. I’m determined to make sure this fucker is really dead this time. I can hear voices as I walk closer to the door.

“It’s a shame you already chose to be a biker’s whore. I might have kept you alive, but I don’t want used goods. At least before, I knew my dick was the only one you ever had. Now that you’ve been opening those legs you sealed your fate.”

I can hear her crying and it makes my blood fucking boil. I want to charge in there, but I know that would be stupid. I have no idea where he is, and I don’t know if he is close enough to her that he could reach her first. If I’m not smart about this, both of us will end up worse than we started. Taking a few calming breaths I peek around one of the corners, ducking behind an overturned piece of furniture.

I try to listen and gauge where in the room he is. It’s quiet and that makes me nervous. I peek around the chair to see him standing behind her, his gun pointed at her head.

“Look at that, he did come.” Viper smiles at me. “No use staying hidden now.”

I don’t move trying to think of what my next move could be.

“Okay, let’s try this. I’ll count to three then I’ll put a hole in her. And we’ll keep going till you come out or she dies. One . . . two . . . ”

I stand up not wanting to call his bluff.
