My eyes focus on her. She’s shaking and crying. Her head is trained on the floor and her cheek has a line of blood dripping down it.

“Aw, look he came to save you.” Viper bends down closer to her. “Don’t be rude. He came all this way. You could at least look at him.” She doesn’t respond. He crashes his elbow down onto the space between her neck and shoulder eliciting a cry of pain from her. “Look at him!”

“Don’t you fucking touch her again!” My gun is raised at him.

Tracie lifts her head up, and her red rimmed eyes meet mine. The look on her face breaks my goddamn heart.

“I suggest you toss your fucking gun or you’ll regret it.” His gun presses against her temple. “You might be wondering if you could hit me, but I guarantee I could still get a round off in her head. Toss the gun now.”

 Fuck.

I do as he says, tossing it over knowing I’m completely screwed now.

“Did you know that this is the room I fucked her in, Torch?” His eyes narrow at me as his free hand dips under her shirt.

My fists clench. “Get your hands off her.”

He laughs as he slowly moves down lower and Tracie begins to cry harder. “See, you’re not really in a position to tell me what the fuck to do.” He removes his hand. “You know you’re supposed to love this guy, he comes all this way just for you and you barely even look at him.”

I look at the woman that I love and see that she has completely broken down.

“You’ll have to excuse her, she’s a little distraught. It’s hard when you learn the truth after believing a lie for so long.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” By his demeanor it’s obvious that Viper has officially lost his goddamn mind. I need to get closer to them. I need to get the gun from him.

“Why don’t you tell him?” He nudges her with the gun and while he’s distracted I take a few steps sideways closing the distance between us little by little. “I fucking said tell him!”

She jumps as he screams. The rage inside of me is almost uncontrollable. I’m vibrating with the need to wrap my hands around his throat and drain the life from him.

“He-he . . .” She coughs and tries to catch her breath. “He killed my parents.”

My blood runs cold as I look at him, knowing from his shit-eating grin that it’s true.

 Holy shit.

No wonder she is so destroyed.

Finding this out on top of him being back.

“It’s sad finding out I took your parents on the same day I take your best friends from you, huh?” His face is so close to hers as he taunts her.

“They aren’t dead, you motherfucker.” His head snaps up. “I got them out before I came here. They’re fine.”

Tracie’s eyes snap up to mine.

“Looks like you fucked that one up.” I shrug.

“Oh well, they were just a bonus. She’s the reason I came back.” His face is close to hers again. I take my chance, lunging at him, and knocking him over. At the same time, I hear the chair she was sitting on hit the floor.

My first instinct is to check on her but right now I need to get this gun. His hands are clasped around it, holding onto the piece for dear life. I roll so that I am able to kneel on his chest. Our hands are both wrapped around the gun, which is raised over his head. I shimmy up his chest and press my knee against his neck. He gasps as his airway begins to restrict. I need to make sure I only do this long enough for him to pass out. This is too humane of a way for this motherfucker to die. He needs to be alive so that we can have some fun with him. His eyes begin to close and when his fingers go slack and his arms drop, I remove my knee. I quickly feel for a pulse, relieved when I find one.

I can hear the sound of tires squealing on the dirt as I make my way over to Tracie. She’s passed out but she’s alive. I pull her onto my lap as the guys come charging into the room.

“Great timing,” I say as they all look at me, guns drawn.

I fill them in on everything as Twisted cuts Tracie’s hands free. “I think she hit her head when she fell. We need to call Doc. I also need a fucking real estate agent.”

I stand up and pick up Tracie not willing to let her go after being so scared that I would lose her.
