I wet a towel and run it under my arms and down my bloody leg.

“If you try to hurt me with anything in there, just know it’s going up that pretty pussy,” I hear from the room. “So choose wisely.”

I glare out the door. Sawyer shows up, his face lit up in a grin. He tosses a pair of sweatpants, boxers, socks, and my tennis shoes at me. “Get dressed.”

I eye the clothes. “Is this going to cost me points?”

“Only if you don’t obey.”

I do. The comfort of the clothes instantly makes me feel safer. I feel slightly comfortable for the first time since I got here. I have to roll the sweatpants a few times to keep them on my hips, but otherwise, they’re soft.

Sawyer watches me with a satisfied look. “You look so hot in my clothes, bunny. Now, freshen up.” He motions at the sink and walks back into the room.

I look through the drawers. There’s only one toothbrush. Fuck it. I lather toothpaste on it and nearly groan at how good it feels. I find deodorant and use it, too. I really smell like Sawyer now.It makes my mouth water a little, and self-disgust immediately follows.

Sawyer pops back up. “There’s hair ties under the sink.”

Sure enough, I find a pack. I watch Sawyer as I pull my hair back. This man is moody as fuck. I ask, “Why are you being nice to me?”

Sawyer smiles. “I wouldn’t call it being nice. You stink. Plus, we’re going out, so I want you to look normal.”

I flush and then freeze. What? We’re going out?

Sawyer leans against the doorframe, one hand gripping the top. “New game. Hide and seek. You and I hide, Ryder and Miles seek.”

I swallow. Holy fuck.

Sawyer looks at his nails. “Starting ten minutes ago, we had an hour to hide. Anywhere within a twenty-mile radius.”

I stop breathing. “The time has already started?”

Sawyer chuckles. “Relax.”

“Relax?” Adrenaline runs through me. “What happens if we get caught?”

“We probably get fucked within an inch of our lives.” He shrugs. “It gets you out of the house so Ryder doesn’t decide to…you know…kill you and end the game now. He’s a little pissed about his room.”

My stomach bottoms out. “Well, let’s fucking go.” I push past Sawyer, and he laughs. I can’t believe this is happening.

“Why are you hiding with me?”

Sawyer follows me to the kitchen. “So you don’t run.”

I make a beeline to the front door.

“Ah, wait.” I hear the jangling of keys, and I whirl. Sawyer is holding a set. “We can run if you want, but driving is faster.”

Oh my god, they’re going to let me get in a car.

Sawyer holds out his arm like he’s a gentleman escorting his date. I glare at him.

He shrugs with a mischievous look and leads us outside.

The air and sunshine hit me, and I feel a rush of gratitude. They’re letting me outside. For a brief second, tears prick my eyes.

Sawyer climbs into the same pickup I saw at the gas station. Oh my god, that feels like months ago.

For a second, I hesitate. I think about taking off on foot. Then I banish that stupid thought and hop in the passenger seat.
